We shall see. They managed to blow it again yesterday afternoon. Who has their pitcher come into a tie game in the 8th after 104 pitches? Granted, a pitch count is not indication of when a guy is done, but still. There was two outs in the bottom of the 7th with the pitcher due up. I get it if you don't want to waste a guy off the bench. So don't. Let the pitcher hit and then he is done. I wasn't really listening when they blew it in the 8th.
Anyway, I think tonight will go based on which Ben Sheets shows up. Personally, I hope he falls like CC did the other day. That way when the Phils jump on him, there will be no Brewer comeback tonight.
There was an email that when out about 45 minutes ago saying there were three tickets available for the suite for tonight's game. I would have loved to go. But I have plans and no friends near me currently. Free food and alcohol. Great view. Sweet!

Well. Last time out Ben pitched a complete game shutout. Ordinarily that should scare an opponent, the thinking being the pitcher is on his game.
But when it comes to Ben Sheets it should make you feel good. He tends to struggle after his best games. I think the combination of having to focus for nine full innings along with the physical toll of pitching a complete game kind of carry's over to the next start and he's usually not very sharp.
Personally, I'm hoping for a second straight shutout
It was only the first game JR. But I believe Hamels is pitching tonight. If he is on, say goodnight. Dont' get me wrong, I am glad the Brewers are falling right now. But with three games remaininf between us, you never know what could happen. Howard has been hitting a few long homeruns lately. I hope that is a sign for him and us. And he just missed a second one last night. If some of the guys that are slumping finally start to break out of it this weekend, it could help carry them the rest of the season.

The wheels are falling off on this team and Ned Yost is FINALLY gonna pay the price. At least that's my prediction.
Last night after the game Cory Hart said the team feels looser in Philadelphia than it did in Milwaukee. He said it almost wasn't like the ten game home stand weren't home games because of all the booing. It seems like the fans expect them to win every night. Oh BOO HOO! Another professional cry-baby.
This is more of Ned Yost coddling these babies, telling them they can do no wrong. Milwaukee gives their players an incredibly long leash. Most of these guys would have been crucified in NY or CHI or even PHI, but in Milwaukee after a month of .180 Corey is hurt because the fans get on him a little. Poor baby.
Ben Sheets pitches like crap then gives a post game interview where he says the vibe of the team was good after the game, better than the last few days. We don't have to worry, the team has been standing strong (losing 8 of 11 and giving up more than half the wild card lead constitutes standing strong?) Sounds like MORE Ned Yost speak.
And then, there's Ned Flanders, er Yost himself. AGAIN telling the Milwaukee stupid that no game is more important than any other. This Philadelphia series is not a big series. It's just another game. They're all important he says.
Yet in April and May when they blew about 9 saves between Turnblow and Gagme the company line was "well, you'd rather have this happen now than in September".
I am so sick of Ned Yost I could just throw up. I hope if we do choke this lead away they FINALLY run this perennial loser out of town.
Well, at least Hart didn't call your fans "front runners". I really don't understand how Yost has managed to keep his job for the past couple of years. I wouldn't mind a total collapse by the Brewers.

Now, you know there are two weeks to play. Okay, two and a half weeks. Alot is going to happen in that time. I know it will be a rollercoater around here.
