Breakfast: none. I had planned to stop at Starbucks, but Brian got around late. And I didn't bring my typical protein drink, because I thought we were stopping at Starbucks. So now I'm coffee-less and empty-stomached.

Clothing: Black pants with this black on black pattern on them. They look like someone took a vampires living room curtains and made pants out of them. With a white tank top and a long black jacket.

Weather: Raining and muggy.

AC - isn't that a wonderful smell?

I have done that before. I make a beef stew in the crockpot. Normally, during the winter months. I have come home from the bar at 2 or 3 in the morning, put everything in the crockpot, turn it on for a slow 10-12 hour simmer and go to bed. I prepare everything before I go out, so throwing it in the crockpot before jumping into bed is no big deal. Then is is a nice, late lunch or early dinner. Mmmmmmm...beef stew.

its definately turning into fall. In summer, I'm really just not all that hungry. some grill out food, a salad, whatever. come fall, stuff like stews and chili start sounding appealing again....

JD - That is your fault for not eating before you left the house this morning. You had the opportunity.

We had roast for dinner last night. I was so surprised at how easy it actually was.

We started our nightly dinner discussion when I got home at 5:30. "What do you want for dinner?" "I have no idea, what do you want for dinner?" "We don't have anything." "The fridge and cupboards aren't empty, we've got to have something."

But then Brian said, "I know what I'm in the mood for, but we don't have it." "What?" "Pot roast."

It sounded good to me, so I went to the grocery store, picked up a small roast, some potatoes, and some carrots. I put the roast in a pot and covered it in water, shook a bunch of all purpose seasoning in, added a beef bouillon cube and a bay leaf, and let it simmer for 2 hours. Then we added the cut up potatoes and baby carrots and boiled them till they were soft. We took everything out, I added a bit of flour, and we had some gravy to go along with it.

This is the first time I've ever made a pot roast without using an oven bag or the slow cooker. And it's the best pot roast I ever made.

I'm having the potatoes and carrots and gravy.  Brian hoarded the rest of the roast, he wouldn't let me have any of the leftovers.

yes, its scrubs. I could not think of the name when i posted. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and have some appointments today.

I live in the Palm Springs area. I do love my desert paradise. Milwaukee was a good place to grow up, but California is the only place to live. Except for Hawaii.
