I did sales for a year and I can tell you, it takes alot of "no"s to get to the "yes" for the sale.
I think relationships are much the same way. Sometimes people find each other right away. However sometimes it takes meeting alot of different people over time to find a person that matters. It usually finds you when you least expect it. It'll happen.
I spent 6 horrible months trying the dating life only to come to the conclusion that I'm really horrible at dating. I lack the patience for all the BS one usually ends up dealing with. I'm not going to put up with somebody trying to change all the things about me that they say attracted them to me in the first place. So, I decided to quit worrying about all that.
Maybe someday Mr Right will come along and will actually take the time to sledgehammer me in the head enough to get my attention. Who knows? I'm pretty happy just being me. After all that misery, life has finally gotten fun again.

Fun, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. My thought is that anything that is good can only be improved by throwing a few laughs into it. Sometimes you can even improve a bad situation with a laugh. I tend to be a little warped in my thinking sometimes, so I do get amused by things and at times that I shouldn't. If you can hang with that, then you might enjoy the company.

I bet you run into a lot of outside of the box thinkers in your job. Problem is that most of them probably aren't thinking thinking right outside of the box.

Its funny how many want a bible once they hit our doors.
We can give out bibles in jail but not in schools. I am guessing there is always a chance for rehabilitation, but the jails are not geared for that. Unfortunately alot of these frequent flyers have varying forms of mental illness. Its alot cheaper to jail em than treat em.
And to be honest, these people dont have it too bad in jail. I think there are alot of em that like having all thier needs met and decisions made for em. Thats why I make the big money. I manage 50 to 100 excitable humans at a time. Fortunately, I think since I treat them with dignity, they respond to me pretty well.
Lots of people get religion only when it is convenient. It's just another shameless scam.
No worries, as long as there are pop quizzes, finals, and shootings, there will be prayer in school.
I imagine there are a lot of people who would be good in that form of controlled environment. Some are probably better off in jail than on the streets. It is sad that a lot of mentally ill people get jail instead of help, but if you think about it most state mental hospitals are just a different form of prison. It is probably rare that people are really helped in those facilities either.

I truly admire people who have faith. That in today's culture is a miracle in and of itself. I think with what I do for a living, it can be easy to be cynical. However, I can attest to situations at work only a higher power could have gotten me out of. I am always greatful for those reminders.
Speaking just for myself, I believe in God, a higher power, a supreme intelligence... whatever you want to call it. Somebody for sure had to be on my side when I wrecked that car. I've seen the pictures. I should not be here.
I do not, however, believe in organized religion. More people have killed in the name of organized religion than probably from sum of every other form of death. Look at all of the wars throughout history that have been started in the name of somebody's version of a supreme being.
I'll stop my rant there. Don't mean to offend anyone. Like I said, it's just my opinion. I don't begrudge anyone the comfort they may find in their religion of choice.

Everyone comes to their beliefs in one of two ways...good experiences or bad ones. In a way I agree with you...if a religion teaches love and helps you love God more...then there is truth. If it teaches hate or doesnt help you love God, then it is probably not something that will withstand the test of time.
People's beliefs have more in common than they think. Thats where dialogue can and should begin.
