Hi! Sorry I haven't been around much, I've just been busy and haven't had much to say. I've been listening in while I've been applying for jobs tonight. How are you doing Sandy?

I picked up this great book last week called Sin in the Second City that I've been glued to every chance I get. It's a nonfictional work about the Overleigh bordello in Chicago - what an interesting read! Are you reading anything interesting lately?

And no JD, I'm not napping!Although, I have to admit I'm worn ut from a great day!

Hey that book you're reading sounds interesting, like something I'd like to read.  I'll have to see if I can find it.  I'm currently reading the new James Patterson book, "The Dangerous Days of Daniel X."  I'm having a really difficult time getting into this one.....it's kind of like his Maximum Ride series, but this one deals with aliens.  I'm gonna give it a few more chapters, but if it doesn't click with me by then, I'm returning it to the library for something else. 

How's the job hunting going?  Any more prospects?? 

Sorry to hear that.  It stinks when they interview then end up vacating the position entirely.  I really hope the right opportunity for you comes along soon!  Don't get discouraged; it'll happen when it's supposed to happen.

Is your sister teaching?  How does she like it? 

Did she have flashbacks to her days in gym class??  I hated gym.  The school I went to you had to wear these really dorky looking gym suits.  GYM SUITS!!!!  They were one piece knit things....top had a mock turtleneck, sleeveless, green & white pinstriped, bottoms went to just above then knee.  And we had to BUY these from the school, special order.  My god, they looked like an old bathing suit the women wore back in the 20s!!  Ugly as all get out!!!!  We wore these things for 3 years in a row.  I never felt more hideous in all my life!!! 


Sending out lots of luck to Tara!!  Wonder if she'll have any teacher's pets??  Some of the boys will probably experience their first major crush when they get her for their teacher.   

If she's teaching by Christmas, she'll get lots of little gifts from the kids.  Coffee mugs with Teacher on 'em seem to be real popular.  She'll have enough to share with the whole family.   

Wait til she gets her first "my dog ate my homework" routine.  Sometimes it is the truth.  When we first got our dog, she did eat homework.  I had to write a note to the teacher telling her what happened.  She got such a kick out of it, she wrote back and told me to send in the pieces after they passed.  I didn't think that was so funny. 

My youngest girl was game to do it too because she didn't like that teacher.  I had to talk her out of it.   To this day, she tells me we should've got a baggie and sent the whole thing in.  Sometimes this child worries me. 

What grade would your sister like to teach?  Does she have a preference? 

I think middle school aged kids would be the most difficult because of the attitude kids that age begin to develope. 

That's a nice age for kids.  Most aren't burned out yet on school and are still really eager to learn new stuff.
