I gotta work at the church this morning getting a new computer set up for the secretary. I know this is going to be a long ongoing issue while she gets used to it because she doesn't handle even small changes well. I know there will be a long string of phone calls ahead.
morning, folks... bleh, monday already. have this sinus thing going on and just wanna sleep... looks like fall is creeping up on us -- tulsa metro weather today -- sunny and 75!
smiles everyone! smiles!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend. I feel old...we had my babies' birthday party yesterday...they are 1 and 3 ugh. Both of my boys got a bunch of loud obnoxious toys, but it's all good because my 3 year old came and told me it was a very, very good birthday. He was very happy that he got cupcakes AND chocolate doughnuts. He's an odd kid, but I love him. Oh, and my 1 year old sucked a cupcake to death.
I went to bed with a long list of things I wanted to do when I woke up. Then I woke up with a sore neck again and NO ambition to do anything. Then I get to the forum and it's being a pain in the back end!
I GUESS I'm gonna just have to try and force myself to have some ambition today.

The food-on-his-face guy, who is being much more reasonable and is actually working with me via phone and email now, had a couple changes to his business card. Among where I couldn't read his handwriting through the chocolate, he also wanted to change his tagline. He's a recruiter, and he changed his tagline from, "Helping student athletes achieve dreams," to, "Helping student athletes."
Morning all. It definitely smells like a Monday. I was in no hurry to get to the office since I had a conference call first thing and could do that from my cell phone. Nothing exciting once I got here... it's kind of a lame day. Could use a nap.
Mz... perhaps dude got a dose of reality. It's hard to be a dream-maker if you can't master something as simple as eating correctly. This guy does not sound like the inspiration for "Dreamweaver"!

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
I have two customers that are very high maintenance where they have no right to be:
One is a rookie freelance graphic designer. She's an average designer, but she doesn't understand printing processes, and she often tries to beef up her designs by requesting special stock.
The other is a male chauvinistic, thinks he can run a business, currently log home builder. He thinks that by having flyers he can sell a bunch of houses, but he tends to steal home plans from other companies.
So I did a booklet for the log house guy (let's just call him Jackass for simplicity's sake). All he knew he needed was a booklet, but he had no text, so he told me to just design it and leave spaces for text and he would fill it in later. He never filled the text in. The Rookie Designer does a bunch of stuff for the local realtors, and he somehow conned her into creating the text for him. I gave her the file to put the text into.
Now, he owes us money. We're not releasing or ordering anything for him until he pays up. Apparently he owes her too, because she asked me a couple weeks ago if we'd heard anything from him.
Now he's back, at least on her end, and she's asking for the file again because she trashed it when he disappeared.
So, do I give her the file? If I don't give her the file, I have to tell her why (or she'll probably guess it). Also if I don't give her the file, it'll make her look bad (not that I'm that concerned, but I'm not heartless). But if I do give her the file, what's stopping her from either giving it to him or getting it printed elsewhere?
If it were entirely up to me, I wouldn't give it to her and tell her exactly why. And it is in my power to elect not to give it to her. But I don't believe it is my place to tell her why.
I would just tell her to have him contact you for the file. Let him know why you are holding it. You could also tell her that you need his signature to release it....since it is technically his project that he hired you to do.
I came out of Lowes to find my driver side rear tail-light cover hanging about an inch and a half from the car.
Obviously the minor fender bender it was in was worse than they let on (or maybe even knew about, because they turned the car around in only about two weeks).
It looks like the adhesive around it just gave amid the heat and humidity. Hopefully tomorrow I can just get some kind of adhesive at an auto parts store and fix it myself.
JR... there is a really good automotive adhesive called "Gorrilla Glue". It should be available at your local auto parts shop. It's a nasty green goo, but it works really well. Just requires a little caution when dispensing as to not get it everywhere.
