What Songs Do You ALWAYS request?

CP made me think this might be a neat thread. When you are tuned in, and head to the request system, is there a favorite artist, band or song that is usually a MUST REQUEST for you?

For me, if you hear "You Can't Always Get What You Want", or "Emotional Rescure" by the Rolling Stones, or any of the solo Keith stuff in the evening, chances are it was me requesting it!

When I last visited the studio during the weekday, I was amazed at how the request cue was continually packed with songs! Even more amazing was that Riggs was like "OK that would be Trish ("Bad" by U2 if I recall), ....that one was definately Mo's...."

I always try to request The Boomtown Rats on a monday, for obvious reasons!!

Also I do tend to request Sweet Home Alabma at least once a day! if im not having a great day it just cheers me up instantly!

The Cheers theme too, that seems to be a song I request a fair bit!

If you're listening at 6:30, you're gonna hear American Hi-Fi.  I love that song.  I like Rick Springfield's Love Somebody, U2's Vertigo, Falco's Rock Me Amadeus, and Def Leppard's Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad.  I request those all in a day.  Can't get enough of them!  I try to change them up, so everyone's not hearing the same song every four hours, but I always request American Hi-Fi after the four hour wait is over.  It's my new Bowling For Soup replacement.  I have 1985 on CD now, so I don't request it as often.

I love that I can request these songs and hear them throughout the day.  That is the best thing about freezeframe (other than the board members and DJ's. ).

I have many regulars as well.  As stated, Laura Branigan's Solitaire.  I also have moments where I request Borderline--Madonna and Mary Jane Girls--In My House.  I tended Bar at a Dance Club in Milwaukee when these songs were big and because of who was ordering drinks at the first time I heard these songs, I like to replay those memories.  The one song that I really hated, and my daughters found it somewhere is It's Raining Men.  I think it was one of the Spice Girls that remade that song.

Oran' Juice Jones.  I want to stay warm, thats why I like that song.  Takes me back when I lived on the Delaware coast.

I'm afraid I can't answer this question on the grounds that it might incriminate me... Suffice to say it rhymes with Rum Gone Visine.

I need to make a correction to my previous post.  I must have been asleep still when I wrote it.  I request Oran' Juice Jones not because of wanting to recall the warm weather and my time of living on the Delaware coast, that song is JT Taylor - Long Hot Summer Nights.  I like Oran' Juice Jones because it reminds me of someone that I once knew.

I always request:

She's Waiting - Eric Clapton, Vox Humana - Kenny Logins, King Tut - Steve Martin, Mexican Radio - Wall of Voodoo, and Run Run Away - Slade.  I like to request things I can't hear anywhere else because I don't have them on MP3 or CD or they're never played on the radio.  Also anything by Def Leppard, Chicago, Huey Lewis....

I must add though, that thanks to Freeze-Frame Radio, I am becoming a Johnny Cash fan (One Piece at a Time is usually my request), I love the Bobs, and I've rediscovered a lot of good 80's music from bands like Night Ranger, Loverboy, and Toto.

Sometimes for the fun of it I will throw on a Johnny Cash song during the 2nd hour of Jazz 101- just to shake things up a bit. No one seems to leave, they must see the humor behind doing so~

Hey Trish,

That's hilarious that THE GEEKS GET THE GIRLS is your new 1985

The second we got the new singles in and I heard that one I IMMEDIATELY thought of you, and knowing how insane you were for 1985 I thought "This is right up Trish's alley, she's gonna LOVE this".

BINGO!  SCORE!  FREEZE-FRAME PSYCHIC POWERS PREVAIL!

WOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!

See, Jeremy, we always THOUGHT you were good, now you just proved it!

I love that sound!  It's up and reminiscent of the 80's.  Plus, I always had a thing for the shy guys.  I married one.  Of course, it's probably because I talk enough for both of us!

We had a scout lock in this past weekend and I was amazed.  One of the scouts brought his big brother with him (about 12 years old) and he had 1985 on CD!  He had also heard of American Hi-Fi.  He had a collection of CD's that he had burned and it was like he had looked at my fave playlist.  I was quite impressed. There is hope for the next generation!  Of course, I immediately told him about freezeframe.  Gotta recruit people with good musical taste.

Nice job Trish.  Keep up the good work promoting the station!

We expect to see a surge in listeners on March 1'st.

One of our biggest competitors in the genre is starting to charge listeners to request songs.  That's sure to send a lot of their listeners off in seach of a new station, so we'll have to embrace em!

This is great hey riggs? The evolution from a primarily 80s station to include pop mainstream of today was virtually seamless, they intertwine so well!!!
