High School people now

This is a kind of different thread.  What happened to the people in your high school after graduation that kind of shocked you?  I was shocked to find out that a guy that I went to high school with got his bachelor's degree (actually, there were a few that I was shocked did that).  He was always sloughing off at school and I was glad to see he got it together.

You can be nice or you can be mean (that girl you REALLY didn't like in high school now works at McDonald's now and she thought she was IT in high school), but let's hear it!

Boy! you hit it right on the money there. One of the snobbiest cheerleaders in high school is still working at McDonalds! (not that there is anything wrong with that) for those of you that do work in the biz. She was always going on to bigger and better things.

There was a kid in my class that was the All American Athlete.  Blonde, Blue, Tanned etc.  He had a train of girls behind him all the time.  He was visiting SOCAL and saw me on the golf course.  I did not recognize him.  He asked if I remembered him--unitl he said his name--I did not.  He was Bald, Blue and very out of shape.  More surprisingly, he introduced me to his significant other--that was the biggest shocker.

You know, this still freaks me out, but to this day, 18 years after graduation, I have only once run into someone I went to school with, and that was a person I was good friends with.

At any rate, it was about 2 years ago and he was changing the oil in my car in one of those drive through places.

That's funny that you haven't run into anyone from your HS class.  If I want to see anyone from my class, I can just go to this one bar in my HS's town on any given night and I'll see at least 4 people, usually more.

I guess the only good thing that makes me giggle is the prom queen who thought she was Miss Thing in HS is now considerably bigger than she was.

Ahhh, that still makes me laugh.

Tthe girl who was the biggest bully on my bus route through high school - I saw her working a register in WalMart a few months back, and more recently at Target.

About 5 years after graduation I met a girl at a nightclub who was one of the perkiest, more popular girls at our high school. She explained how she got married to this hunk, had two kids, then got divorced, her kids live with her mom, she's going to Australia to meet some online romance, and she's slept with him, and him, and him, and him.." As she's saying this she's pointing to guys in the club - a fairly cheesy club we go to to people watch. We didn't have much to say after I told her how I got my degree in psychology, managed an IBM graphics center and was planning a wedding next fall!!

Zim- those are the stories I love the most.  Maybe because I wasn't popular, maybe because they were all mean, I'm not sure.

That's a good story though. Thanks for making my day.

This thread brought someone to mind.  One of my running around friends in school was a smart jock who had all the girls and alot of money to show them attention to get what he wanted.  On one of my recent visits back to my home state, I ran into that old friend and just had to chuckle internally when he told me, what he was up to.  He is still single, hasn't dated in a long time, now overweight, and selling mobile homes on commission.  Says he misses the old days.  I wonder why?

I dont really see many people from school now, I moved away from my home town a few years ago, I go back a couple of times a year to see my family, but it seems like most of the people I knew from school have also moved on, but one of my mates from school was in the army last time I heard about him, he was out in Iraq driving ambulances, but I think he left the army shortly after the so called "War" ended!

Another person who I saw from the school days was standing outside the crown courts, obviously waiting to go in for his trial!! no surprises there though he was a bad lad and bully in school! so he is probably locked up now!
