Okay, so I cheated... stayed up all Wednesday night into Thursday morning. "smile: I'm that kind of girl. I'll be back later to share the joys of WFH Thursday.

Got my car back last night. All seems well. My husband got a major migraine and I spent the night taking care of him. In between I tried letting my computer install updates. iTunes took forever and then the big service pack 3 update acted as if it was gonna install and then at the end it tells me it can't and reverses itself. How aggravating!

Morning all! Emily got her cheerleading unifrom yesterday. It is navy blue and white. Too cute, her team is all blonde! Her first game is Saturday- go team!
Sorry, Mz. Where it comes to work, I'm used to speaking in acronyms and abbreviations. Yes, WFH is "work from home".
Woo.. wonder why that is? I know it took well over an hour for me to download that service pack, but assumed that was mostly my fault because I was doing another download at the same time and was yammering away on the forum with Ghost and Dylan.

no the update is quite long. I had to sit here at work when it decided to update. I had no problems here. At home it makes me sit just as long. Then it tells me it can't do it and then it takes a bunch of time for it to remove everything it just did. I'm guessing they got something screwed up again and they will need some hotfixes. I'm not pushing it. If my computer is rejecting it twice then so be it.

You have been chatty today. I can't get off the second page of posts. In fact, this is now the third time I've posted in the first post on the second page. Because I keep bumping it to the top a new one drops onto page two and I gotta go find it again.
CONGRATS MEMEA The big three thousand. If someone hasn't given you a star already I will in a few minutes.
I didn't fall asleep until five AM. One of those nights where thoughts of the last seven years were just exploding in my head. It's so weird the way the last 5 - 7 years have been SO different from all those before them, and not really in a good way. I'd like to go back to when I was carefree and naive.
I FINALLY actually removed that tail light assembly this morning and it's sitting next to me under about 30 lbs of weight, letting the silicone dry. It was a bugger trying to peel it apart again. The original sealant was tar-like and clearly the heat and humidity around here softens it, then when it's cool it's quite strong again.
I've never been more impressed with the design of a light assembly. Two simple rubber plugs removed and the whole thing comes right off. Then just unplug the electronics cord and you can bring the thing in the house to work on it. I feel all mechanic like now
Congrats Mema!!! Glad you came back to the forum so I could meet you.
Another nice day here, clear blue sky and temps in the mid 60s, but the sun still has a lot of heat in it so it feels warmer in the sunshine.
Glad you got your car back Woo. The one thing I can't stand is to be without my wheels and having to rely on someone else to take me around to where I need to be.
JR, glad the light assembly wasn't too complicated for you to handle. Just don't decide to take the engine apart at your kitchen table.....you're not quite up to that calibur just yet.
I've watched my husband when he works on cars. I learned how to give my car an oil change, put new spark plugs in it, and I can help pull an engine or tranny and put a new one back in. Sometimes I like to play in car grease.
No kidding!! Anything that's a petroleum product has skyrocketed in price. I bought some oil based stain this summer and couldn't believe how much that's gone up!!!
I was suckered into buying this card full of discounts and freebies for a shop. It was $35. But I'm glad I did. The first oil change was free, and the next 2 or 3 are only $7.99. There's also a bunch of things like free tire rotation, free fluid fill up, etc. And it doesn't expire. In fact, I need to take it in for a tire rotation and oil change, and I'm so relieved to know that it'll cost less than $10.
Of course, they'll make up some reason that I need extra maintenance and want to charge me a couple hundred extra, and I'll have to decline. Last time they wanted to replace my front brake pads and lube the back ones for $350. Um, no. I got a friend to do that for me for the cost of parts and a plate of cookies.
