2-fer Tuesday Roll Call

Mema's awake. Still at home but working on getting to the office. It's supposed to be another lovely day outside... near 80 again. smile.gif

Good day all!

I'm doing pretty well for the little sleep I got last night. I did pick up a latte with a triple shot of espresso, just to keep me going. I was too excited after the Zappos thing last night to get to sleep right away, and then Brian kept me awake most of the night.

I think he might have the flu. Last night he was complaining about his throat hurting, and he was more subdued than usual. Then during the night he tossed and turned a lot. This morning his throat still hurts, he's congested, and he obviously has a fever. He also has a headache, but I'm guessing that's due to the fever. I left him with some tea and got some medicine for him before I came into work. I woke him up to let him know the medicine was there, I hope he stayed up long enough to take it.

well the bootcamp training was fun enough, but as predicted, I am way sore this morning, even after taking some Ibruprofin last night. It was a good workout, but I think we spent too much time doing (or trying to do) various types of pushups, not enough cardio, and no stomach work- although the guy said that we will in the future sessions. Nice enough guy & is an actual drill instructor for the army.

the classes are held in the lunch room of the school where I went to kindergarden. I haven't been back there since 1975, so that was fun to see. I think the paint and the floor tiles are the same.

there was a bunch of broken animal crackers on the floor. the guy promised he'd have them sweep before next session, but what a good motivator to bring ones own excersise mat.

we also did a lot of work with the stretchable medical tubing- what a convenient, effective and cheap way to get a good work out- bicept, tricept, chest curls done all right there with this tubing. really you can get one of these things for maybe $5 or get a bo-flex for what, $1000-something? this tubing is just as effective. maybe buy a $10 crunch ball too and you have a whole work out system for $15. running in place for cardio is free.smile.gif

Here. Hope Brian feels better soon!

I decided to get payroll out of the way before coming here. I am not in a very good mood. It's been a lousy morning. One of the things is that hubby dropped the cardboard insert from the anti-freeze bottle while he was trying to add more anti-freeze into the car. This caused us to be late as he tried unsuccessfully to remove it from the car. He now has to drain that tonight. Also while money is super tight due to the last car repair, the belt is completely screaming to be replaced. We obviously have no money for that which just makes us even more grumpy. We already are not gonna be able to make a payment on the car for October. We are ahead so we don't have to but it sucks because we are very close to paying it off.
And then there is my pending jury duty Thurs and Fri. We really don't have extra gas money for it so I am praying I don't have to go. hmm

I just thought of something. I've never had strep throat, and neither has Brian, so we don't know what it's like. What are the typical symptoms of strep?

mz, your tonsils swell up incredibly and will be covered in white spots. been there, had that.

I've got to say that it was kinda nice to have Favre NOT doing what he did for the Jets last night as a Packer this year...

Could they please keep sucking for six more games please?  Thank you!

Good day all.

MZ, I'm sending positive healthy vibes Brian's way.  Hope he feels better soon.

Sore throats are something I got ALL THE TIME in WI, I mean, almost weekly.  Haven't had one since i got to NC.  I wonder if there was something in the apartment I rented in WI that was causing them.

Not much to say today.  So I'll just wish everyone a good day!

Lata!

I checked on Brian during lunch. He still feels hot, but he's all sweaty now. I took his temp, but it's 98.5. I'm wondering if he broke the fever this morning, if the Tylenol is helping, or if I'm just cold enough that he feels warm. I tried to look in his throat, but he can't get his tongue out of the way. But I think he's feeling better.

Hi all!  My oldest girl just got home from her Wellness class at school and asked me to be her weight training partner....she's taking a weight training class for the Wellness credit.  I told her I'd help her out when I have time....she didn't seem too pleased with my answer.  I'm wondering exactly when I'm supposed to work out with her since she has classes every day of the week, she works part-time, and I also work.  She mentioned something about having free time around 10:00 at night.  What????!!!!!  I think she may have to find someone else to work out with her.  nod.gif

You certainly can't be doing that at 10pm. Unless maybe you weren't going to bed until 1am.

I usually don't go to bed around 1:00 every night, but I don't wanna be just hitting a workout session at 10:00 at night. I'm physically wore out by that time. And I start my day at 6:00 while she's still in bed sleeping so an early morning routine won't work either.

I could suggest that she start waking up at 4:30 a.m. so we could get an hour in before I leave for work in the mornings.  biggrin

Good luck with that. Frankly, if my choices were 4:30am with someone or whenever I had time and alone, I would so do it by myself.
