Your Virus Scan Software

well I just got a lovely note from aol saying that my complementary McCaffee Virus Scan software will no longer be complementary and will cost me $40 a year now.

Which virus scan software do you use? do you like it? Is there a cheap and effective one out there?

I don't believe you have roadrunner, but if you do they offer a free security suite from Computer Associates.  I think it's awesome.  Plus, I went to Best Buy once and say the entire suite sells for over $100 a year!  So it's a nice freebie.

It includes a Spam Filter, A Firewall, An Anti-Virus and a Spyware program.

I use AVG, the free edition.  It seems to do what I need it to do.

Web, is Nod 32 a free one?

I like it well enough JD, but if you need any tech support at all, they don't offer it in the free edition.  I know my way around virus stuff well enough that I feel confident using it, but it may not be the best choice for you.  You could always try it, see what you think.

When I was working for my Mom she used the free AVG. She got a virus or two, not sure how many, that eventually took her computer down. It kicked the bucket right after I quit. hmm
