It is not our fault that banks made stupid decisions. We shouldn't have to bail them out. Who is going bail us out if something happens? Are they going to forgive my mortgage and just give me my house? More importantly, why do these executives get to keep their golden parachute packages, stock option incentives and bonuses if there is no company or money to pay them? If they just take all that away crap away and there should be money to keep the company afloat.

Jackasses. For years executive compensation has been way out of control across the board. Right now is seemes to have hit the financial sector. If I were a stockholder in any of those companies that paid out $70m in compensation despite the failure of the bank, I would be filing a lawsuit. It really simple,you don't get a bonus if you don't perform. Isn't that how it works for us lowly types?

Not sure if Bernie Ebbers actually had to give Canada to us. I know he lost a bunch of his US holdings. Don't remember what happened to the Enron bastage.

I don't even think this was stupidity. Stupidity is kind of accidental. These guys wrote bad paper on purpose. There has GOT to be a way that this is criminal.

I look at it this way....

Sometimes it's worth it to pay someone to go away & stay away.

And, it's probably a whole lot cheaper than any wrongful termination lawsuits would be.
