Lunch, weather and gas prices

I went to an international student luncheon. Each graduating student chose a dish that the campus cafeteria prepared. The food was NOT healthy, so my options were limited. We have kids graduating from South Korea (pretty sure it was a cat dish, but GOOD- sorry Sparky!), Australia (shepherd's pie), and some South American countries (not sure what the was bleh) and then Lithuania (not sure either) one from The former Republic of Georgia (he is really glad to be here!) and finally Trinidad. It was a nice luncheon though and free is always good. I filled up one spring rolls and fruit!

It is 88 today but should only be in the upper 70s tomorrow.

I paid 3.53 this morning....

A cup of steak & potato soup, a salad, and a Diet Dr. Pepper. It's 66 degrees, mostly sunny, and a little breezy. The gas station I drove by this morning said $3.29, but I think I'm going to go over to MO after work and fill up. Last time I was over there it was like $3.14.

I'm having leftover lasagna and a piece of garlic toast.  Yum!

It's 52, cloudy, and windy.  The wind makes it feel colder than what the temperature says.

Gas is still $3.69 a gallon here.  hmm

I had this chicken pasta green pepper thing I made Sunday night with an apple, some juice, and some mocha soy milk.

It's cloudy and 61. Too cold for me.

It's around $3.65 around here. Would someone send Ghost and I some gas?

Gosh we are HIGHER than most of you. The 3.53 was at Walmart with a shopping card that saves .03 a gallon.

Very healthy lunch DS! And I think you called me last night, I have yet to check my voice mailashamed

well for 2 pm break they just bought out containers of veggies and deviled eggs. I bet these were to be a part of lunch, but were either ordered or dropped off late.

Cloudy, rain expected, mid 60s

$3.49 across the street from the house. It probably in that range all around.

Dang Mema, I wish our prices would drop that low!!  I was telling my dad about how low gas prices are for some of you, and he says "all the blue states are paying more for gas than the red states."  I'm thinking he's probably right.  hmm

Your dad may have a point. Still... even among the red states there is quite a bit of disparity. While Missouri is $3.14, good ol' Kansas... the reddest if the red states... is $3.29. hmm.gif We just have much higher taxes.

You're still 40 cents a gallon cheaper than here.  cry  Man, I wish we'd start seeing just a bit more relief at the pumps.

It really doesn't make much sense to me why there is such a disparity. I get the tax differences. That is blatant here. I just don't see why it is so MUCH more there.

Me either.  We've been running higher than the national average since last winter.  I don't understand why.  I can see a few cents here or there, but when you're talking 40, 50, sometimes 60 cents more a gallon, it just p*sses me off!!!

I bet it does! I can see gas being higher in the southeast where they are currently having supply issues, but that shouldn't be affecting you.

They (meaning our state) never gives us a specific reason for the price difference.  They just watch out for "blatant price gouging."  Well I'm sorry, but right now, I think there's price gouging going on, especially considering what you guys are paying.  They say we have a high road tax, but I'm pretty sure some of the other states do too, so it can't be that reason alone that's keeping the price up.

That's just crazy. Ours was around $3.55 pre Ike. It went up to around $3.72 day of, and has been going down just about every day since. I'm not complaining about the price decline. I just think it is senseless that the prices are this high.

Wow, so far the only person that has me beat is Ghost. After Ike, we went up to $4.25. For us, the price issue has got to be the city. I think they're taking advantage of the students. When we drive through the state, we avoid getting gas before we leave, because it's always cheaper everywhere else. Even Indy is usually cheaper than Bloomington.

Hey... I heard on the news earlier that oil closed at $95 / barrel. Hopefully oil will continue to decline in price.
