Nope, no pie . . . that was for MY birthday. The boy doesn't really care for pie. He gets cake.

We were going to have his best friend sleep over tonight but that didn't work out. The friend won a local soccer kicking contest for his age group so has to go to another town two hours away in the morning to compete at the state contest.

Since we couldn't do the best friend thing, we decided to do the family party instead. We couldn't do that tonight because my nephew's homecoming football game is tonight so most of my family will be there. We can't do it tomorrow because my niece is our town's queen candidate for the state "Harvest of Harmony" parade so my family will be there. (The parade is basically a state-wide high school band parade/contest.)

So, our plans are to have the whole extended family over Sunday after church for some burgers.
