Commune Time?

The Dow just closeed at 8579.19 for a drop of 678.91 points. That just blows.

It amazes me that they thought $700 billion was gonna solve the economy's problems.  We're in it for the long haul people.  And we're moving closer and closer to having one world banking system.  That's not a good thing in my book.

I saw a story on ABC news early this morning- the UK is in the EXACT same boat- from housing, to the execs making millions and the government stepping in! Scary ****!

I wish I could see into the future.

This may be a great time to dump money into stocks . . . or it could get even worse.

I know what you mean Web.  I've been watching some stock prices and wondering if I should be buying some right now.  There are a lot that are affordable when two or three years ago I wouldn't have been able to touch them.

I was just chatting with JR about this too.

The bank where my wife works . . . their stock price was at a high of $27.00 within the last year.

There was the attempted buyout that fell through which caused the stock to fall.

Then, another lending organization that they were working with got into trouble and the bank had to cover it all which made it fall even more to a low of $2.50.

Its at like $4.30 now and bouncing around every day.

MANY employees watched their stock/retirement funds blow away.

On the other hand, if you put $10,000 in at $2.50 and it went back up to $27.00 . . . you'd end up with $109,000 before taxes.

thats what the 401k guys keep on saying "DOWN IS GOOD!: the chance of 1000 shares going up a penny is much more than 10 shares ever going up a dollar....

I still want to know who is going to bail me out should I get into trouble. Maybe I need to refinance, pay myself a huge bonus and the go cry to the government.

One world economy, one world government... none of that is good. The $700 Billion that was already too much was actually voted in at $840 Billion after all the earmarks. AND I seem to remember reading somthing on the TV screen (I muted it...couldn't take the droning on) about Nancy Pelosi calling for another $150 Billion for an economic stimulus package.

I'd be very careful in picking your time to buy and how much you buy. My buddy Brehznev dumped $10K into company stock because it hit $5.69 per share last week. Right now it's sitting at $3.76. Last time I saw Brehznev, he was breathing into a paper bag. hmm.gif I think it will go down some more before it recovers.

It might be a good time to buy stocks in companies that produce brown paper bags for hyperventillating into. wink

I stopped over at Brehznev's desk this morning to console him. He said he put in a sell order at $5 per share. I just love to watch optomism. evileye.gif
