15. Million Miles Away - The Plimsouls (Valley Girl)

14. Somebody's Baby - Jackson Browne (Fast Times at Ridgemont High)

3. Eye of the Tiger - Survivor (Rocky III)

2. In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel (Say Anything)

1. Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds (The Breakfast Club)

THE RATIONALE: Any of the top 10 songs could be in the No. 1 spot, but Don't You Forget About Me is not only the symbol of John Hughes' signature flick, it was perhaps the signature anthem of anyone who grew up in the '80s.

OK, so what songs are missing? Which are overranked or underranked?

I think they nailed the top spot. Definitely the quintessential 80's soundtrack song!

I would have moved a few of the others around a bit, but overall a good list. smile.gif

I thought you would like #1. I agree the list is good.

Maybe I was living in a cave at the time but I don't have any recolection of #19 and #20. I was a little surprised nothing from Dirty Dancing made the list, or that Man in Motion from St. Elmo's Fire didn't hit the top 20.

G-gal, if you were living in a cave, I must have been deep underground when some of these movies came out. laughing.gif I still haven't seen To Live and Die In LA, 9 1/2 weeks, Valley Girl, Hard To Hold, Electric Dreams, or Say Anything.  I only recognize the songs because of all the air time they got when they were first played on the radio.

laughing.gif I LOVED Valley Girl! I had such a crush on Nicholas Cage because of that movie.

Ghost... the only one on your list that I have seen is 9 1/2 Weeks, but I didn't see it until maybe a few years ago.
