Whats interesting is novellas usually make VERY good movies. This story sounds like it has loads of potential...so who knows...you may get an offer for the screen rights. Visualize which actors you would like to see play the characters. It may help in the writing process.
Good luck...it sounds like it is gonna be a great story.
I can't stop thinking about this now. I've come up with a working title and a synopsis:
The Cocoa Addicted Mind Chocolate. Cocoa. Cacao. Fudge. It doesn't matter what you call it, if I'm caught with even half an ounce, I could face a minimum of 4 years in prison. It's ruined my life and cost me my job, my husband, and my son. I hate it. I love it. I need it. I have given everything I have for the experience of that musky sweetness that melts onto my tongue and fills my mouth.
I think both the title and the synopsis need work yet, but it gives me something to post to my author page. I've also worked up a rough outline and bookmarked some reference material.
Wow Mz! You've got an excellent beginning!! Yeah, the title needs some work, but you've got a really great intro paragraph for your story. Now I really want you to succeed at finishing it because the first few lines have already piqued my curiosity.
Actually, that's not even the intro, just a synopsis, like something to go on the back of the book. I think I'm going to start the prologue with headlines about the war on chocolate. Then the first chapter will start out with the main character reading an illicit chocolate recipe book. I'm going to start it out where her addiction is starting to affect her job and her marriage, but she hasn't lost them yet.
I've decided to turn this into a fundraising opportunity. The organization that hosts NaNoWriMo is a non-profit called The Office of Letters and Light. They also sponsor the Young Writers Program, which encourages teens and young adults to enjoy writing and creates building blocks for a promising future.
So I'm looking for sponsors. Like a walk-a-thon, this is pretty much a write-a-thon. If anyone here is interested in sponsoring me, the link is: http://www.firstgiving.com/nano-mzhartz
(Man, I hate writing messages asking people to donate to stuff. I never know how to convey that it really is okay if no one donates.)
