I am here already to get the temp that the oven needs to be to be able to bake my pumpkin seeds. Gonna hit the shower. Emily is going to be Hannah Montana, but she can't dress up at school. I am having my Arm and Hammer party today at work too, but not until my gyn gets her trick or treat this morning. I have my yearly check up at 8:45!ashamed

JR had mentioned doing a forum costume party. I wonder if he still wants to do that.

Mm, pumpkin seeds, my favorite! I've got the seeds from two pumpkins, and they'll probably be gone by the end of the weekend.

Oh, and I colored the front of my hair blue today. I did that last year too, for a costume. This year it's just for fun. I like it. Every time I do this, I think about getting something a little more permanent. Plum colored front highlights or something.

Happy Halloween! Isaac is a Ninja and they were able to go to school in costume. Although, by the end of the day, the teacher is going to hate me because it's a one piece that ties three places down the back... After school, it's trick-or-treat downtown.

Happy Halloween to everybody.

MZ, I really wanted to do the costume thing on the forum today, but since I got back I've been so busy I really gave it no thought at all. Maybe next year. hmm.gif

I think it would have been a lot of fun. Of course, you guys can still do it if you want. But I'm heading out the door in about 30 minutes.

Everybody stay safe today. Don't eat too much candy. Don't forget that tomorrow all the stores will have their halloween stuff 50% off. I like to get next years candy for the kids at those sales. Oh sure, it's kind of hard and stale by then, but heck, they don't know who's house they got it from once it's mixed in the bag with the rest. biggrin.gif

The boy got to take his costume to school but they can't wear them until the party/parade this afternoon.

The businesses downtown are doing trick-or-treat from 3:00-5:00. The boy said he didn't want to go. We had to force it out of him but he finally admitted that last time he went, there were two people in gorilla suits that scared him. I'll try to get him to go today.

He's changed his mind about four times now, but he's decided that he wants to go to the church fun night instead of trick-or-treating. He's really torn. He wants the candy, but yet that big box maze looks like a LOT of fun. I'm not sure he knows it, but the church is giving out candy too, he just won't get as much there.

Its going to be a really nice night . . . one of the warmest halloween nights we've had in years.

Oh to keep you all posted....date last night was a bust...never got to date #2, he texted me said he was sick as a dog, and couldn't make it!! Then went on to say something else in the text, but apparently it was too long of a text so it got cut off, so I have no idea where I stand.

Happy Halloween everyone!!  I miss having little kids in the house to dress up in costumes and go out trick or treating with.......my girls are too old now and don't do that anymore.  cry  We also don't get any trick or treaters come to the house....they all stay over on the boulevard that's a block behind where I live. 

About 10 years ago, our schools here in Saginaw stopped allowing the kids to wear costumes while in school on Halloween because a few parents complained about it disrespecting religion.....the parents said "Halloween is a celebration of evil and Satan and therefore should not be celebrated during school hours."  Our school board agreed with them and kids are no longer allowed to dress up for Halloween while at school.  What a bunch of crap!

Me too, I miss having a child to dress up and take out trick or treating.

Kaisha did dress up Rex and took him to doggy daycare.... he could win a contest. However it's not the same.

I bought a small thing of candy, I live in an apt. complex where the door is locked on the bottom so I don't think I'll have any kids, but you never know, someone's grandkids in the complex can be there, and decide to knock on all the apt doors.

I'll just have to eat the candy if no one does come. Not a big deal. biggrin.gif

This is where I get lucky... grandkids. nod.gif Halloween tradition is that my son and his best friend bring their kids to my house as a gathering spot, then trick or treat in my neighborhood, then come back to my house for hot cocoa afterwards. I stay home while they go out trick or treating and hand out candy to the rest of the kids because there are LOTS of kids in my area. It's a great time for me. smile.gif

I am not going to hand out candy this year. I had fewer kids last year than I did the year before, maybe about 10-12. It isn't worth it.

Our weather is beautiful here today too! No ninjas in down coats, yay!

We rarely get kids though. I still bought candy anyway. We usually end up all trick-or-treating each other on our property after we've determined we're not getting any kids. I wanna kidnap someone's kid to take trick or treating. I should take my friend's baby out. No, she can't eat candy, does that matter?

We had a really good turn out at our office trick or treat event yesterday. Cutest one of the bunch was a little girl who just started walking... she was in a Piglett costume. ADORABLE!
