Sunday, sunday, sunday!

Good day all.

I'm back to working on Wire Ninja.  That's what we've decided to name it.  It's a service to spread the word about upcoming events.  People will come to our website and fill out a form with their event.  Then we submit their event to the newspapers and radio stations in town.  So someone doesn't have to contact each one to get their event listed, and the media has a more complete calendar of events.

But, it seems that we're lacking people who know how to write code to export the data and make it filter-able, so the going is slow.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning, it's a cold snowy day today. Allison's birthday party is at Peppy's Pizza at 2:00 if anyone wants to come. We only have 37 people so far so the more the merrier. smile.gif

Good evening all!  It was a cold day here today.....was raining earlier but it changed over to light snow, then continued to snow the rest of the day.  Since it was too icky to go out, we stayed in and played Rock Band then some Halo all day.  Glad my girls are into video games too; makes it more fun to play.  smile

Hope all of you had a great day!

hey hey!
It was a pretty good day. got a bunch of leaves mulched up, had a nice home made breakfast and dinner. THe packers BLEW IT today, so I'm glad I didnt waste 1/2 my afternoon watching that.

We went to the oriental food market on this side of town today- it had been awhile. It was time to get some dumplings and udon to make a real good soup. Also some rice seasonings. While we were there I took some time to stroll the isles and have some fun.

In the deli, you can get 2.39 pounds of pig snouts for $3.29. Also 1.81 pounds of duck heads could be purchased for about a buck.

I was so tripped out that I went back to an isle of canned and jarred goods, where dried wasabi anchovies could be gotten for $1.15.smile.gif

Yes, I had a ball.smile.gif

Aren't those Asian markets fun to look around in?  I wonder who the heck eats duck heads and pig snouts?? weirdfacedoh  I learned a long time ago to stay away from Korean and Filipino food unless I know exactly who cooked it......I've heard too many stories of really weird things being considered food.

Good evening, all. It was a decent day for me. I got lots of stuff done this afternoon. Did some Thanksgiving shopping, moved the plants inside the house from the garage, did some laundry, made one of the appetizers for my Thanksgiving dinner that can be made in advance and frozen, and of course watched some football. Bummed that Green Bay lost... I thought that last field goal would make it. Totally not surprised the Chiefs had enough time to lose the game. Momma called at the end of 3rd quarter to inform me that they were winning. I told her "no hassle, plenty of time"... to which she said I am a cynic. I called her back and told her I'm just a realist. laughing.gif

Right now I'm watching the Giants / Eagles game. Looks like its gonna be a good one.

mama I think its cool you've got the forsight to do something like get the holiday appies taken care of in advance like the this. thats cool. I wish I was more like that with the stuff to do lists I have. mostly I feel like I'm behind the 8-ball most of the time. Some people have their christmas shopping done by july (ladies in my family). they get to laugh at the rest of us who wait till like the 15 of december to get started.....smile.gif

sandy the next time you come to milwaukee, we'll go. smile.gif

the real scary stuff didn't have what it was on the packaging. it just said "miscillaneous by weight". somethin look like hard boiled eggs with porcupine quills. In one of the freezers, there were packages containing what looked like 6 basil leaves. but those packages were $7 a piece. I have no idea what that must have been.

ever see squid in brine in a jar with red onion?weirdface.gif

Yes, we won. smile.gif

We're eligible for a bowl game now.

Mrs Web roasted a chicken with taters and carrots. Someone made me eat too much. I've got that bloated feeling.

No, don't think I've seen that before.  I bet you were having a riot looking at all that stuff and trying to come up with some way to serve it at your next BBQ.  laughing.gif

Note to self....when I get to Milwaukee, make sure not to eat at JD's house.  biggrinwink

JD... I'm generally not this far ahead of the game. Believe me when I tell you I'm usually shopping until Christmas Eve. I just know this Thanksgiving is going to be a bit unusual time wise since Pambo is having surgery Monday of that week. Instead of spending that day cooking, I will be with her at the hospital. I'm just adjusting where I can so I can make it work.

Ghost - Pig snout is used in some Mexican dishes too. I'm not entirely sure which, but I had a friend (rest her soul) who used to cook with it. I don't have a clue what the application would be for duck head, but then again I can't explain why anyone would eat head cheese either. bleh.gif

One time I went to my friend's house (this was back in junior high) and when we walked in the kitchen, her mom had a whole pig head in a pot on the stove.  doh  She said she was using it to make tamales, and asked me if I wanted to stay for dinner.  Um no thanks Mrs. V; I ate just before I got here.  blankstare

Head cheese is just as bad.  My dad eats that sometimes; he slices it and uses it for sandwiches.  bleh
