I just can't believe someone would forge my intials over $41 lousy bucks!
The only arguement I could see them making is that someone internally had to approve the changes and they happen to have the intials JR. But I can't see how they would have any right to make those changes on a signed contract that we'd agreed upon.
Once you signed it, they don't have the authority to change it without your consent. That is the purpose of you signing the document... to say that you agreed to the figures. If the warranty price was in fact supposed to be $2041 instead of $2000, they should have informed you of the mistake and tried to work it out with you. Sounds to me like someone in the back office got ahold of the paperwork and decided to tack that on there hoping you wouldn't notice. $41 is an odd figure to add on, but maybe it was the difference between loss and breaking even somewhere on the vehicle. People do like to get their bonus money after all.

I'm guessing the $41 is probably a tax or fee or something they forgot to tell you about. But if they forgot to put it on your contract, tough, they gotta eat it.
Hi all! My brother called me this morning and said there is 6 inches of snow on the ground up in Cadillac, where our cabin is. He lives in Lake City (about 20 east of Cadillac) and he also has 6 inches of snow. He said it's supposed to continue snowing up there most of the day. I hope it stays up there for a while yet.
Woo, that's good news about your father-in-law. Glad to hear he's improved enough to go to the regular floor in the hospital.
DS, congrats to your daughter! She must have felt really good selling 7 pieces of her artwork. Way to go!!
JR, what a crock that is on your contract! As others have said, what they did is illegal. If you can't resolve it with them, I'd call the Attorney General in N.C. and report them.
