Sorry... there is very little in life that pisses me of worse or faster than people who hurt little kids.

I know how you feel.

The hatred I feel for this woman right now scares me. I try to tell myself she's not right in the head, must be borderline retarded or something. But part of me just wants to see her beaten to a bloody pulp.

Right in the head or not, that kind of evil just need not be. Life even in a Turkish prison would be too kind to her.

Hairbrush is on me. I have your backs. You know she can't be right. She flat out told the police what she did. Anyone else would have seen a problem with how she handled the situation. That is horrible.

The emotional funeral of Christopher L. Thomas Jr. erupted in violence today as family and friends of the child's birth mother and father clashed in bitter frustration.

Christopher's foster mother, Crystal P. Keith, was charged last week with beating the 13-month-old boy to death and with torturing his 2-year-old sister. Crystal Keith is married to the brother of the child's birth father, whose name is also Christopher Thomas.

The dispute simmered throughout the service but erupted near its end, as people lined up near the open casket to pay their final respects.

Several people began to taunt Thomas, who sat at the front of the Serenity Funeral Home chapel, his eyes closed.

Who threw the first blow was unclear. Thomas was punched on the left side of his face. He was removed from the chapel and taken to a couch, the left side of his face severely swollen, a bloody gash beneath his left eye.

In the chapel, chairs were thrown aside and flower displays were knocked over. Several people grabbed the boy's casket to keep it from being flung down.

As people cried out for calm, the fight spread to the funeral home lobby and into the street. An ambulance arrived at the front of funeral home just as the casket was carried out the back and loaded into a hearse.

The hearse hurriedly pulled away toward Graceland Cemetery, followed by a small group of cars. In an area of the cemetery designated Baby Land, a quick graveside service was held at a plot donated by the county.

Most of the handful of people at the graveside appeared to be family and friends of the child's birth mother, Candace Glover.

Glover, weeping as she clutched several stuffed animals to her chest, was too distraught to leave the back seat of her car.

Family members said they did not have enough money to rent a place to gather after the funeral. They stood in the cemetery near their cars and grieved.

Gives me chills just to think about having to bury a child.

Not really surprising. Who knows what the issues are that put this poor child in foster care in the first place, but when they are placed in a home, it is supposed to be a safe place for them. I can't imagine the horror of someone taking my child away from me, let alone having that child subsequently murdered by the people who were charged with caring for my child.

I was called for jury duty and was supposed to serve last week but I delayed it because of the new job.

I wish I had gone, maybe I could have been a part of sending this bag of dirt away for the rest of her life.

A follow-up to the thread started last November, the woman has been found guilty and will be sentenced up to 75 years in prison...

Crystal Keith was convicted Thursday of the Nov. 11 beating death of 13-month-old Christopher Thomas and of torturing his 2-year-old sister.

The jury began deliberations at 10:37 a.m. and announced it had reached a verdict 46 minutes later.

Keith, 25, the children's aunt and kinship foster mother, was found guilty of one count of first-degree reckless homicide and one count of physical abuse of a child (intentionally causing great bodily harm).

She will be sentenced on July 7 and faces up to 75 years in prison.

The Thomas siblings suffered horrific abuse, and the only thing not shocking about the four-day trial was the verdict, which appeared inevitable: Jurors heard a recording Keith's three hour confession to police, they heard a recording of Keith's 911 call in which she tells the dispatcher she has killed a baby and they examined dozens of photographs of the terrible wounds Keith admitted she inflicted on the children.

During closing arguments, Assistant District Attorney Mark Williams showed the jury photographs of Christopher's injured face, head, neck and feet and described the brain injuries and broken arm he suffered from being punched, slapped and twisted.

"Ladies and gentlemen, that is first-degree reckless homicide," he said.

Williams said that the five months Christopher sister lived in Keith's home, "the child suffered more than any of us in our whole lives."

"This was just a house of horrors," he said.

"This child literally went through hell," he said.

Keith's attorney, Richard Hart, argued that Keith was too intellectually limited and too emotionally damaged to appreciate the harm she was inflicting, and he urged the jury to find Keith guilty of second-degree reckless homicide.

Both attorneys had harsh words for the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare, which placed the children in Keith's home and was responsible for their safety. Despite frequent visits to Keith's home, social workers reported no signs of abuse.
