Can you believe that Friday comes every week? No, I can't either. It sure doesn't feel like it.
Hopefully I'll have an easy day at work today. I got kind of frustrated getting ready to work this morning. I thought maybe I'd shave and wear a skirt today, since it's the last 60 degree day we'll have in a while. It ended up taking me twice as long to get ready, and I picked the worst pair of pantyhose to try and pour myself into while in a hurry. But I'm all settled and relaxed now.
My plans for this weekend include a lot of writing. I'm right on track with word count, but I'd really rather be a bit ahead.
Well hunting season is upon us and I will be a deer widow at noon today. We got our new washer in the apt yesterday and then spent the night trying to get all his clothes washed for his hunting trip. While he is gone I need to finish the Christmas cards. The whole hospital thing has really put me behind. My father-in-law is still doing good and may get out tomorrow. Hubby is gonna stop and see him on his way up north.

I'm happy I finally got all caught up on my billing stuff again. Now the payments can start rolling in.
Mrs Web called early this morning and she's not happy. The bank had an early staff meeting and at the end, everyone was presented a schedule of when their day to clean the kitchen/break area is. She's upset because she goes home for lunch and doesn't use that area. If she does use it during break, she cleans up her own mess. She shouldn't have to clean up everyone else's messes. Plus, the two guys in the bank are not on the list. So now, she is wondering why she has to go clean up after two guys that don't every have to clean up after themselves.
Office politics.
Stuff like that makes me glad its just me and my dog here.
Happy Friday all! I have today off from work.....teachers have to go to classes today so school is closed. My husband left this morning to go deer hunting for a week so it'll be just the girls and I home. I'm heading out to do some Christmas shopping in a little bit.
It's cloudy and raining here; they're saying we could get some snow accumulation tomorrow night. I'm hoping they're wrong!
Web, that doesn't sound fair at all that your wife has to clean the break room while the guys don't have to. I'd be hopping mad over that one!! Hope she says something to the higher ups about it.
I am sure Mrs. Web will go see someone about that. Something I can't understand, especially since it happens around here all the time, is why people can't clean up after themselves. We are all adults. And it makes me wonder why people are slobs at work. Would you do that stuff in your own home?

That is exactly her point. Not so much that she has to take her turn cleaning, but they are all supposed to be adults. Why does something like this even have to be done?
The order CAME from the higher ups . . . that is part of the problem.
The branch has two co-managers. The woman manager is shallow. She worries more about how things look than if things are done right . My wife has to go to to business on Monday to get info for opening checking accounts for 12 Mexican imigrants that they have hired. There are still HUGE questions that need to be answered about this like . . . the accounts are interest bearing accounts. How do they handle that when the workers don't have SSNs to report the interest to?" There are other important similar questsions that are yet to be answered. So, she's worried about how all this stuff is going to work out on Monday and her boss is worried about who's going to wipe the counters down in the back room.
on my way into the parking lot today, I saw a dhl van pulling up to the dock. I kinda wanted to 1/2 ask the guy how many more days he had to work before they shut down, etc. But I didn't.

Last night, I heard part of a song by Lincoln Brewster and his family that was really cool.
At the last checkup before his son was born, Lincoln recorded the heartbeat.
So, he started with the "thump-woosh, thump-woosh" sound of his unborn son's heartbeat as the backing beat track, then he, his mom, and his grandmother built a song over the top of it. A four generation song. It was cool.

Um, problem. You can't hire immigrants if they aren't documented and they are in positions other than "cash paying" jos. I thought you couldn't even open a bank account without a social security number, let alone get hired by a company.

I don't really know any more of the details than that. They are supposedly part of some program and are supposed to be, or have already applied for everything, but its not all set up yet.
It sounds bad for the employer, but they have had 19 positions open and NO applicants. Its crappy, stinky, dirty, hard work. It looks like they have been through all the people around here that are willing to do the job so they had to look elsewhere.
I completely forgot, today is the great chili contest day here at work. there are 14 crock pots out there right now filled with chili. Lunch be on the house today.
I took 2nd place in the chili contest once at the last place I worked. Number 1 was the VP. Everyone wanted to get their nose real brown I guess. Even I voted for his.....
