RE: An auto industry solution that I like!

although now I'm not sure, does he want congress to take the automakers out back and put and shoot them, or does he want someone to take the senators out back and shoot them?

Probably both I s'pose.

I'm glad you asked!

What they need to do is to begin to lay the foundation of care for the common hard working tax paying people as we transiton even further away from an industrial based economy.

Provide that money towards helping the common folks take care of themselves and family & quality of life as the nation transitions even further away from the these industries. Mr Lunchpail Joe did his part by working for his whole life. He did his part. What does he have to show for it? A renigged-on pention, no job, a depleted 401k. He wanted to believe in the American Dream that hard work breeds success. Whoopsie, sorry sucker.

What we need to do with that money is 2-fold. Help the people save their homes, their sanity, their belief in america. Provide that money towards jobs training with an eye on the future. Invest it in the schools, job-training corps, etc. & while at it, Save people's homes, if you can't save their jobs. Make sure these people have access to good food too. Take care of the basics first. Help them transition themselves towards the future.

Next, begin to build the industries of the future then. The trend seems to be heading towards earth-friendly green industries, for example. Work on the battery powered cars while we still have a chance to get in at relatively the ground level. Fossil fuel is the past. Reliance on what fuels us now is the past. Many problems need to be faced and challenged as the world continues to grow. Lets work towards solving those problems.

Don't save the past. Save the future.

So don't give the big three the money then right?

I agree.

Where we don't agree on is what the average Joe American is "owed". but that's a debate for another day.

Ya, I suppose that's true. I know I'm relieved to finally get off defense and go on offense.
