Thursday... The week is almost over

Morning, all. Yet another exciting night at work. hmm.gif Looks like I might get to catch a few hours of sleep before I have to go to the office for a meeting. doh.gif We'll see how that goes. Supposed to be a cold one here today... high not even 40.

Hope everybody has a good day.

Well I slept last night but not without having to take a sleeping pill. I tried for a half hour on my own and I could already tell it would be a struggle and I didn't want to wait and worry about taking a pill too late. I was kinda draggin' this morning and ran a bit behind schedule but I am here.

Good day all.

It's supposed to be cold here today too, with a chance of flurries. I hate flurries. I hate calling flurries flurries. It makes it seem like we're going to invaded by cute fuzzy baby animals. At least that would be warm.

SQ, that sounds so cool! Aren't you a bit far away from Tampa though? Somewhere around a 4 hour drive? (Man, I've been jonesing to go back down to Sarasota...)

I'm glad you slept Woo. I agree, I hate the sleeping pill hangovers, I feel like I'm in La La Land the whole next day.

Speaking of flurries, I saw my first flurries of the season this morning. The were falling here and there, but not everywhere.

I noticed that my upstairs neighbor seems to be home this week at times when she usually isn't. I hope she's just doing a staycation and not been layed off from her job.

Bah. I'm having trouble getting my day started.

I've been trying to get in touch with family members via phone because my grandmother went into the hospital last night with severe bleeding, but so far I can't get a hold of anyone.

I also have some errands to do, but have no motivation to get started no.gif

I hope grandma is okay.

She's a tough old bird, but she's really old too and this is hard on her.

She's been in about five times for this, last time she got near death and needed a full 8 pints of blood in total! (they couldn't stop the bleeding, so for awhile they were putting it in while it was still coming out).

Whenever this happens it's really a toss up. She's so tough she may pull through, but there's always a very real chance she won't. hmm.gif

My gut says she will though.

This is my fathers mother. If we lost her I think the family on that side will pretty much disband. It's a very disfunctional family and nobody really respects anybody. An incredibly different situation from my Mom's side of the family, which is amazingly close and caring.

My family is the same way. My dad's side is really close, my stepdad's side is close in just the immediate family, but my mom's side is dysfunctional. When my grandma passed away earlier this year, that pretty much ended any family gatherings on that side. There's so much drama on that side (and I have to include my mom in that), that I'm actually kind of glad. My aunt has her own family now, and it would really help my cousin out if she would just have holidays with their family anyway. My uncle will probably come over and spend the holidays with us, which would be great.

Wierd how that works isn't it?

I'm glad it's all contained to one side though.

One of my grandmothers kids is great, and of course my Dad was great. But her other son and daughter are conniving, selfish jerks that don't even care about her beyond what they stand to gain from her.

One has taken extreme financial advantage of her for the last 30 years and the other is a cheap bastage who has told the family that he won't spend a dime of his money for his mothers funeral because it's her own fault she hasn't saved anything to bury herself with!!!

Have to say, I hope my grandmother is around a LONG time, but when she does pass I won't miss a few of the leaker relatives.

Just heard from my husband a he broke a few curses today! He shot a 10 pt and the rack is intact! clap.gif

So now it takes the edge off. And the bonus is the rack not being broken. He might get a good deer but the rack is ALWAYS messed up!

That is low.  But that sounds similar to my mom's side of the family.

Here's our current drama.  My uncle lived with my grandma, and now there's the issue of the house.  My uncle doesn't want to move out.  My mom suggested that he buy it from her and my aunt on contract.  But my aunt wants her money now.  It's not because she doesn't trust him, it's because she's so broke and can't keep a job.  But my uncle is afraid he doesn't have good enough credit to be able to get a mortgage.  Plus, that neighborhood isn't as good of an area as it used to be, so if they can even sell the house, it'll be for dirt cheap for someone to turn it into a rental.

That was back in the spring.  At the time, my mom and I went over one weekend to help clean it out.  My aunt showed up for a couple hours in the morning, started a burn pile, left it unattended and left.  I've done more work in that house than she has, and I don't get any share of the sale, I just feel like I should help out.

Now, to complicate things even more, my aunt lost her house (I'm not sure if she was buying it or renting it, that's a whole other issue), and her and her boyfriend are now living with my uncle in grandma's old house.

I don't make any of that. And this year I guess we will experimenting again. We had a few years of good jerky but then something went wrong and it has sucked every time. I think my hubby will be buying something new to make it.

Sorry to hear about your grandma JR. cry I hope she'll pull through!  Have you heard anything?

Woo, congrats to your hubby!!  Mine came home around 4 today; he got a huge doe, missed a big buck.  My brother got a doe and a spike horn.  My dad got skunked.  My husband and my dad both still have buck licenses to fill and they're talking of going back up to my dad's to hunt over Thanksgiving weekend.  Dang, I was hoping to go to our cabin Thursday night for the rest of the holiday weekend.hmm  Maybe the girls and I will go anyway. smile
