I bet you don't get them MZ. I bets your allergic.

I don't get them because I'm afraid it'll make me sick. I've never had one in my entire life (other than the ones I suppose my parents got me before I was old enough to say no).

I've only gotten one before in my life.

One year, the bank where my wife works thought it would be a good idea to offer the shots to the employees thinking it would help with sick workers being off. They had a nurse come to the bank and do it right there. They then also offered it to spouses for like $5.00 or something like that.

That was the only time I've gotten a flu shot and that was the only year the bank provided it for employees. It must not have helped since they didn't ever do it again.

I would love to be able to get a flu shot, but I can't because I'm allergic to eggs.  I work in a germy school, and every year I get the flu no matter how many precautions I take.  cry  My girls and my husband all get the shot; they never get the flu, though usually the day after they get the shot, they do feel a little under the weather.  The doctor said it's supposed to do that....it's the shot's way of helping to make your system immune to the actual flu.

I thought the flu shot was a strange thing because it only protects you from the one strain they think will be out there during the year.

I have never had one. I also feel very lucky that I have never had the flu. *knocks wood*

I was supposed to get one back in October, but was sick when I had the appointment scheduled. Since it will tend to make you a bit ill under optimum circumstances, they refused to give it to me right then as it would surely have compounded my issues drastically. I probably should schedule one, but I'm getting all congested, so probably still can't.

It was free, I went for it. I always get a little symptomatic the night after the shot, but I'm not allergic to eggs. For free, I figure why not...maybe it will help.
