Good morning everyone. It sure was nice having an extra long weekend!! I spent Thursday night, Friday, and all day yesterday (until 4:30 this morning) playing Halo with my family. My oldest girl bought a used Xbox system (not the 360), Halo 1 & 2, and 3 extra controllers for $80 from Gamestop the other day. She paid an extra $10 and got a 6 month extended warranty on the system, though I haven't heard of any problems occuring with the original Xbox system. Anyway, we've been having a blast shooting aliens and each other. Halo is now my favorite video game. And the best part is I don't have to borrow somone else's system & games anymore when I want to play.
We are under a winter storm warning until 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. They say we're supposed to get 10-12 inches of wet snow, with at least 6 inches on the ground by sunrise. Oh joy! The upside is maybe I'll have one more day off; we'll see.
Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!!
Panic Room wasn't what I was expected. It was okay, but I saw it once, I don't know if I'd be interested in seeing it again. It just got a bit too goofy in the end I guess.
I'm in a really good mood today. Now I have to finish my book today, which doesn't have the happiest of endings. It won't be a sad ending, but everyone doesn't live happily ever after either.
Good afternoon, all. Its snowing here too, but nothing like what most of you are getting. We might have an inch by time all is said and done. I'm just chilling out at the house watching football and doing some laundry. Back to the office in the morning. It has been really nice being on vacation this last week.

D, yes, I had the ending planned out early on, and I pretty much kept with it. A lot of the other parts of the story changed a lot during the process, but the essence of the ending stayed the same. Although, I did rush it just so I could get the book done today. I'm not entirely happy with the way the ending is written, it's way too rushed, but I'll fill it in later.
Because if I didn't finish it by today, I knew it wouldn't get finished. After the first of the year, I'm going to take another look at it and work on revising it and flushing it out. But for now, I need it to be done.
Did I say "howdy"? I'll hopefully be around for the shows this eve. Might have party on the south side of Milwaukee. Did the lights on the bushes thing today. I'm finding out that it's not the turkey that makes you chubby, it's all that yummy pie, stuffing etc. It's worth it!! Later.
Squonk.

Good evening all. Just finished beating Halo; wanted to do that first before tuning in tonight.
Still snow heavily here; might just have an extra day off tomorrow. Fingers crossed for that.....I really hate driving on roads that are icy and heavily coated with snow.
How is everybody doing tonight?? Tired of turkey yet? I am, ha. I'm thinking pizza or burgers for dinner tomorrow night.
not quite tired of turkey yet! the portions for the dinner were spot on- I got the turkey legs to go because they woulda gone to waste if I didn't take them, so 1 of them was a part of dinner tonight. had a turkey and pepper jack cheese omlette yesterday for breakfast. So its been sporadic and not overkill turkey. I bet after this last turkey leg is eaten for lunch tomorrow, that'll be it, that'll be my fill.
I hope everyone else gets their fill so its just right too.

Yeah I got a lot left too, so I put it in sandwich ziplocs this afternoon and froze what's left. I only put enough in each bag for a couple of sandwiches so it won't go to waste.
Seriously, I spend a week cooking. I wish that was a joke, but it isn't. I know that I go WAY overboard with it, but I can't help it. I want everybody to have a good time. There are special dishes for just about everybody. Plus, the cookies I talked so much about... I have to bake about 5 batches of those to cover the list of people who freak out for them... and that list gets bigger every year because sometimes people share them. It's insane. If I ever DIDN'T do Thanksgiving, I think the world might stop spinning to hear some of these folks talk about it. Guess it's good to be loved.

I just got off the phone with one of my friends in Lincoln. A few weeks ago the Eagles were in Omaha and I asked him if they were going. He said they were not.
Tonight, he said that his wife's sister had two extra tickets and offered them, so they ended up going. To top of off, the sister's tickets were in the 9th row and the sister insisted that about 1/2 way through the concert they switch seats. So, our friends got to spend 1/2 of the Eagles concert right in front in the 9th row. Lucky ducks.
well christmas is always kinda a threat for more turkey in my fam. not that I'm complaining. but usually, lately its been ham, which is nice. I think the double thanksgiving and then christmas turkey was due to employers handing out turkeys as a holiday bonus, back in the day. I think my last bonus was not a turkey, but a plastic ice-scraper with the company logo on it....not that I'm complaining.....
it reminds me of a quote- "I got a company-issued ice scraper and complained, until I met a fellow employee who rides the bus..."

Wow, that was really nice of the sister to switch seats with them. Hope they enjoyed the concert! I love the Eagles; only saw them once, but it was a memorable concert.
