If I remember right, back in the early days of FFR, this was mainly an 80's station wasn;t it? Hence the name FFR? That's what originally drew me to the station, and it's nice to have a day where we get back to that.

I don;t mind the 'outside the 80s' songs that give the station more variety, but it's really nice not having to hear the new music played so often today. I guess that automatic part of the playlist cycle is tied up in the request system that is down?

Oh wait, a song from Chinese Democracy playing makes me notice that new songs have been played today, just not so frequently as in past weeks. JR, I guess you made a change to that automatic play function?

The request system where you make your requests and view the pages runs on one of my servers. It communicates with the broadcast computer at JR's house to make the requests.

Usually, this is a firewall issue caused by his computer changing IP numbers due to a power outage or something. I just tried turning off the firewall but its still no go on the pages so its something else this time. JR said he'll look at it tonight.

This kind of classic top 40 80's music is what brought me to FFR too.

This is the first time I've listened during a work day in a LONG time. I'm enjoying it. smile.gif

Yeah, the system still throws in a new song in every 1/2 hr.

Its just that when there are no requests, the main play list pulls from the Classic 80's top 40 stuff.
