Show Us Your Christmas Decorations

JR and I were talking today that it would be fun to have a "Show your tree" thread. I took the liberty of extending it to your Christmas decorations or anything holiday related that you would like to share with us.

We got our tree up today and I just took a few night pics of it. This is the new artificial tree that we just got last weekend.

I may get a daytime shot tomorrow with different lighting.

C'mon, get those cameras out and share some holiday cheer. smile.gif

Oooooo . . . I like that tree, Ruby. smile.gif

Yes, ours is a new artificial we just got this year. We got our old one the first year we were married. This year would have been its 21st Christmas with us. With Mrs Web's allergies, I don't think she could live with a real one very long.

Even though Mrs Web has been wanting a new tree for a couple years, she still shed a couple tears as the old one left the house.

Thanks Web. I told my hubby that maybe if we bought a fake tree on sale this year after Christmas we could save some money. But he is not interested. This year I hated to spend so much on a tree, but he loves a big tree and so do the kids. I love it too, but hate the price tag!

This is our nativety scene. We've had this set for, I'm thinking probably about 17 years or so.

This set was from "Home Interiors" and was quite expensive. I remember my wife hated to spend what it cost, but she really liked it so we went ahead and got it. She checked on this set about a year ago, and is worth more now than what we paid for it.

That is neat Web. I know my parents have one that is older than me. I love Nativity sets. In my house we leave baby Jesus out of the scene until Christmas morning. Right now I have 4 babies under my bed!

I heard a guy on the radio talking the other day about how baby jesus is always way bigger than scale in a nativity scene. This is the first one I've seen since then and I'd say yeah, he looks a little big there smile.gif At that size he should be walking already!

This is our "Christmas City".

My grandmother was into making ceramics for many years and she made this city for my mother-in-law. Now that my mother-in-law is gone, her "Christmas City" is now ours. Its cool in that there are little bulbs inside that light up the houses and it looks really neat in a darkened room. Even the tree in front is lighted, but it doesn't show up as much in a bright room.

The main base is one piece and then all the individual pieces sit on the base.

Web, very nice nativity scene.

The tree is always considered an important reminder of the festivities, but the the Nativity is a reminder as to what the season is all about. smile
