I was gonna order a nice fancy new laptop today and was gonna put it on a credit card I rarely use. I probably would have paid it off right away, but don't like to use my debit card for online purchases.
Well, the card was declined.
I called the issuer and was told that they are cutting back on unused credit lines and since I hadn't used mine in six months they closed it. She said if I'd had a balance the limit would have dropped to just above the the balance, but since there was no balance they just closed it.
NOW can I get a peice of the bailout pie? Hmm? Huh? Can I? Can I?
Geographically, yes... philisopically and ecumenically, no. I'm so proud of me for making you defend that joke! Don't even get me started on quantum theory... we will be up all night!

They did that to my dad too JR. He had a Visa, hadn't used it for almost a year. When he went on a road trip out of state, he took the card along in case of an emergency. He had something go wrong with his truck down in Arkansas so he decided to put the expense on his card. Declined. Luckily he had enough cash with him to pay for it. When he got home he called and they told him since he hadn't used the card in almost a year, they closed the account. He now carries a Visa he got through his credit union and twice a year he'll charge something for less than $50 just to keep the account open. He doesn't like doing that but at least he knows he has an open account just in case he needs to use it.
