Good luck to them. I had one credit card company notify me that they were reducing my credit line because I had "a history of late payment(s)". Well, true enough... in the three years I have had that account, I did pay the two days late one time. Shame on me. Interestingly enough, this reduction came 4 months after they had just raised my credit limit because of my responsible handling of my account... and coincidentally after the bank this card is through was all over the news because they were failing.

I don't understand how they can just close the account willy nilly. And not to let you know. A lot of people will keep one credit card with nothing on it just for emergencies. I used to.
They should be shot.

I forgot to tell you guys when it happened two days ago, I think I got hit again. Not sure if it's just Capital One ending a program or if it's got something to do with the current economic situation.
About a year ago I signed up for a Capital One Debit Card, it's just a Visa debit card that links to your bank account and works just like your bank debit card.
The advantages were the rewards you earned for using it and it supposedly put an extra layer of protection in place for you, so you weren't using your actual debit card & pin at ATMs and such.
Well, two days ago I got a letter saying they were closing down the debit card program and as of December 31 it will be no good anymore.
They did give me a $25 Visa Gift card as a free gift though. So that was cool.
