We were doing karaoke one Halloween night when a whole group of people came in. We were just amazed how good they were. There were people walking out right and left because they knew they couldn't top it. Come to find out it was the whole cast of RENT passing thru town.

I was dressed as the King and having a ball. They kept putting in requests for me to do and invited my group to come sit with them. That had to have been the best night of my karaoke career! I even got to do a duet with one of them.

speaking of competition-

One night at this karaoke bar down the street from my old house - it was 80's night. For anyone who knows karaoke, you know that there are certain songs that belong to certain people. And there are certain people that you just don't like -not because they are good but because they are jerks (w/out going into it too much).

So the dj and her husband we doing a duet, Close my Eyes Forever (Ozzy and Lita), which is usually done by this guy Vince and his girl. He is just staring at the guy singing and looks really mad. Then the singer/husband goes "sing it to me Lita" - and Vince goes "who's Lita?"

He looks at him and goes "that's my wife" and Vince instantly backed down. (not to mention this guy had some size on Vince)

It was a triumphant day in karaoke. I was totally excited to meet and sing w/ Mario (dj's husband) because he had just saved 80's night for stupid Vince. There were other things that happened but this was the best.
