As motorists venture into the storm, 110 vehicles disabled in Milwaukee County

Dec. 19, 2008 11:20 a.m. | Despite the warnings from law enforcement about poor road conditions, some people still had to be somewhere today.

Many, however, didn't get far.

Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies responded to 110 calls of disabled vehicles between midnight and 10 a.m., including spinouts and cars that were stuck in snow, according to sheriff's spokesperson Kim Brooks.

Deputies also responded to nine crashes with property damage and one crash where one person was slightly injured but did not require a transport to a hospital, according to Brooks.

"The on and off ramps continue to be trouble spots," she said. "I know the county plows are focusing on those right now. What we're seeing is people are getting stuck on them, spinning off of them or missing them all together. What we're telling people is if you don't see a clear path then please go to the next ramp or use an alternate route. Don't guess."
