The sad thing is baseball desperately needs a salary cap...

Its sad that 29 teams leave spring training, knowing they dont have a chance.

The Yankees have committes 425 million over 8 years to 3 players... a half a billion dollars.   Wow.

That is why the are the Evil Empire. The sad thing I have noticed for as much as I pay attention, is that the Royals do get some good players. They just trade to other teams where they have a chance of winning. hmm.gif

I kind of hope so too. I think it's good for the city. I haven't been to a game in the last several years, but someday I might want to go. On the up side, Doug told me he is going to renew his Chiefs season tickets. He promised me that I will get to take Momma to at least one warm weather game AND I will get to go to at least one game with him. I'm still really more of a football fan.

Momma told me when we were driving to the game last week that she had never been to a NFL game. I didn't know that until then. I know we didn't go when I was a kid, but I assumed that was because it is so much more expensive than baseball games. He said Momma should really get to enjoy the experience. As for going to a game with him, I guess his wife decided she is over the football experience. I've never been to a game with him, just used his tickets. When he gave them to me, he always wanted me to take a date. Grand aspirations of me finding love I guess. That's what friends are for.
