I knew they had it in them! I would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to the Detroit Lions for reliably serving as my lock for the last 2/3 of the season. That's right... no matter what else I might have missed on, I knew I could count on you, Detroit Lions, to lose! Enjoy your first round draft picks!

The Pack is lucky they did win. Can you imagine losing to the Lions? It's the same feeling I used to get when McDonald's wouldn't hire me. (did I just type that?)

Losing to the Lions would be shameful. We used to laugh around the office about how lame a game between the Lions and the Chiefs would be. You could call it the "Toilet Bowl"!

You kidding? This country is full of train wreck watchers. What could be more horrifying than watching a match up of the "Here, you can have this back!" offenses versus the "Pardon me, after you" defenses?

Bobby Lane, a QB in the 50's who led the lions to championships in the 50's was traded in 1958. He places a "curse" on the Lions saying they wouldnt win another championship for 50 years. Well it expires this year. MIllen is gone. You have the #1 pick next year...no where to go but up.
Nice thing, they will no doubt do better next year. All the fans that were with them during these kind of seasons can pat themselves on the back when (and if) they come back.

Maybe there is hope. Look at Miami's season. 1-15 last year to 11-5, winning the AFC East and a trip to the playoff.
Oh yeah, and how about them Eagles? I would like to thank the Texans and Raiders. All the pieces fell into place that allowed the Eagles to have a chance at the last playoff spot. Then a spanking of the Cowgirls is always good, even if the Eagles didn't have a chance at the playoffs. I don't think the Eagles deserved to go to the playoffs, but they are there and I support them.

Well, they are playing better. They easily could have gone home. If they didn't blow games like the Bengals, Bears, Giants, they actually would have won the divsion and had the week off. I hope they can get it together again and buzz through the playoffs.
How JR - how about them Packers? Still think they can outplay my Eagles? What was that silly bet you wanted to make about quarterbacks before the season began?
And bonus - Farve is headed home too. No playoffs for him!

I am just waiting for my $100 bet to payoff. On Saturday night, one of the guys made, what I perceivce, to be a stupid bet. Which is why I had to take it. First the bet was contingent on the Eagles making the playoffs.
Boy: If the Eagles make the playoffs, they will win the superbowl this year. TL: Boy: No, really. TL: Okay, how much you wanna bet? Boy: $100 if I am wrong. If I am right, you have to do whatever I want for 24 hours. TL: Pffft. Yeah okay. You really think they will win, let alone get to the superbowl this year? Boy: Yep. TL: $100? Cash? Boy: Yep. TL: Dumbass. I'll take your bet. And I can't wait to take your money.
Now I just have to wait for the payoff. It really is a good bet on my part. Probably the easiest $100 anyone could ever make. I don't think the Eagles can win four games in a row.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the Eagles win the superbowl this year. That following a huge Phillies World Series championship this year would be great. Even better to follow the Eagles championship with a Flyers championship too. Now that would be the best.
