My New Part Time Job

hey!

so this last year I was lucky enough to break even, while my investments lost thousands upon thousands of dollars.

I'm tired of breaking even, I'm tired of my investments losing money. So I will work for more money.

I went for and was asked to take a position friday at US Bank. I'll meet up this week with their HR person to finalize the deal. Basically its 3 nights a week from 6-10:30-11 double checking the accounting of bank transactions. It really seems ideal for a part time position. a lot of 10 key punch, a lot of basic accounting, but what i am really looking forward to is my action of doing something about what I don't like. One can bitch and moan, as I've done a plenty, but then one can get to work and try and change it. Please wish me luck. This position seems perfect both time-wise and duty-wise for me, with minimal impact on my personal life.

well thank you very much.smile.gif
I do hope it goes well. you know that whole "well, ideally it works on paper, but....."biggrin.gif
Another big consideration is that this very much can be a viable inroad into the banking industry, if in the event the printing industry I'm involved with dissolves.....well my foot is in the door......" lol although printing seems to be doing better than banking right now.... at least on paper.....blankstare.gif

Ba dum bum ching!

Although really, good luck JD.  I'm doing the taxes thing again this year.  (Hm, what's up with printing people moonlighting at things that involve money, huh?)  The tax gig works out well for me.  They like me, and it only lasts for 1/4 of the year, so I don't get burnt out on having a part time job all the time.

I was thinking about you doing that Mz. That seems like a real good idea too- busy for a bit and then done for the year.

thanks a lot.smile.gif

I guess I feel fortunate because right now its more of a WANT than a NEED kinda thing.

Mondays 6-11
Thurs and Friday 6-10:30
that still gives me a couple back to back days during the week to enjoy grilling out in summer etc.

really can't complain about that. (yet). smile.gif

Best of luck to you. My mortgage is thru US Bank. If you see any large errors in my favor, please look the other way my friend!

I had a pt job over 10 years ago @ Bank of America. I had health benefits, which was nice for pt work. It wasn't super strenuous after you learned the job (along the lines of boudlbe-checking large corporate bank deposits)........

If you need my acct # to make any deposits, just let me know! j/k, Cheese

Just don't get into trouble like the guys in "Office Space"! wink.gif

BTW, if anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, go rent 'Office Space', especially if you;ve spent any time working in the 'corporate world'. It's a cult classic!
