The Monday between Christmas and New Year

I swear, this is always the most surreal week of the year.  It's like it doesn't exist, stuck on some void in an alternate dimension.

It also means that there is virtually no business this week.  I see a lot of filing and tidying up in my future.

the surrealness of this seemingly non-existant week is compounded by my head feeling like it is in a bubble caused by the pressure of a sinus infection...

Gee whiz. Up until saturday I thought I was just off of work until Jan 3. Then I looked at a calendar and realized I must have made that assumption using a 2008 Jan calendar vs a new one. I'm not even sure if I have to work wednesday or not yet. guess I better head to work and figure it out....

Bum deal about the sinus infection, DS. The surreality is why I always try to take this week off of work. We are in a blackout for network activities until after New Year's Day, so going into the office means basically sitting there, talking to co-workers, and surfing the internet. It gets really boring really fast.

Good morning all.  My husband returned to work today after being home on vacation last week, and I'm really glad he's back at work.  I could go into a big old gripe session right now, but he isn't worth it.

Anyway...
My youngest daughter is going to an early New Year's party tonight. confuse  Her boyfriend wanted to have a party on New Year's Eve but his parents are going out so he decided to have one tonight while they're home.  Don't know how that's going to work, but she's excited to go to it.  She's even going to wear a dress and she never wears a dress to anything.  I'm gonna have to get a picture of this! biggrin

That's about all that's new in my small corner of the world.

Mz, hope it stays quiet at work for you.

DS, hope you'll feel better soon!

Morning all. I am still hanging around at home. I have been awake for two hours, have showered, dressed, had something for breakfast and am now passing through. In addition, the oven is cleaning itself as well as a load of laundery. I didn't really plan to do much today. We'll see where the daytakes me. It is sunny and 40 degress, but I have no reason to really leave the house. I think I will make a nice beef stew for dinner. I also see me maybe sitting down to read today. I would like to pick that back up so that I do more reading in the new year.

Kicking back at home today. Back to work for 2 days then off the rest of the week. I have to bust my butt tomorrow to get payroll done but I'm thinking positive. I will be so happy to get that monkey off my back!

Father-in-law is done with his IV and got his port removed. Now they can focus on why he isn't getting circulation to his feet. He has an appointment Jan 6th I think.

Fuzzy, it will work better if you put the laundry in the washer instead of the oven.

DS, man I hate sinus infections, I hope you get better soon.

Woo, I'm glad to hear that things are looking up for FIL.

I hate to say it but I would not mind being at work today! Too many kids and too much work to do around here! I need to get out and start returning some things too. Laundry going, floors mopped and I got the first ornament nbox out. I have taking up walking with Ruby this past week. At least one hour a day. She is loving it and I am keeping up with my books on tape. I have been reading like crazy, I have read one book everyday and two on my birthday.

Ok I am leaving again... get well soon DS. Hope everyone has a great.

Ghost I will pray for you!

Hey, what did you think about telling us we need to take a day of vacation or a day without pay on Friday? We are in some kinda purgatory. The office gets paid whether or not they work. Print etc. get to come to work and do inventory. I'm checking the no pay thing. I think I can live without the twenty dollars.
