Wow, its a weird evening around here all of a sudden.
It started early this week at my wife's work.
Two of the ladies my wife works with were telling of a lady that died. She is from a town about an hour from here. She was a former friend to one of the ladies, and to the other lady, her daughter is dating the dead woman's son.
The lady was 42 years old. She had been having some stomach issues but the next day felt better. The day after, she was feeling bad again so she went to the dr. That day, her hands and feet started turning blue so they put her on an ambulance to the regional hospital about an hour away. By the time she got to the hospital, she was blue all over and her heart stopped and they couldn't revive her.
So, my wife has had these two ladies at work talking about this all week and we're all talking about how weird it is that this unknown illness took the life of a woman that is only 42 years old.
In all the talk about it, the lady's name was never mentioned.
Tonight, my aunt calls . . . "Just wanted to let you know that [this lady] died."
It turns out that this lady is my cousin's ex (first) wife.
Its not a sense of loss to us because we were never crazy about her in the first place (apparently it turned out my cousin wasn't either), but it just feels really weird the way it all happened.
My aunt did say that she has Lupus. We didn't know this before tonight. It could be related, but they didn't want to say it was until they knew for sure.
Just an update . . . we've heard now that she had her appendix burst. I don't know why she wasn't in more pain or know it before it got to that point, but that is the report.
Hmm... makes sense... sounds like septicemia. Could be that the appendicitis set on very quickly. I've heard of that happening before. Could also be that she was in pain but she may have thought it was something else and ignored it.
