This is indeed Friday.

Hoping this day moves right along. I slept slightly better last night, so this morning feels a little better.

Ruby, I'm so sorry that you are having a rough time. It is okay to give yourself a few minutes away from the issues. You have to do some things to keep from losing yourself in all of this. If that happens, then you can't help anyone. With that said, you will know what is best for you.

You and your family are in my thoughts.

My turn to not sleep. I slept a bit after 4am. Went to bed a bit later as I was doing laundry and helping my hubby with his new bluetooth. Also my ex-brother-in-law returned and I think and hope he is on the way out from his horrible marriage.

My father-in-law got cleared for travel so we are going up there to help them pack. They want the heck out of dodge ASAP! His toes and feet are still going purple but they are still warm and he is just supposed to keep using the Nitro cream on them.

Morning all. Whay is it I think I feel worse today than I did yesterday after not sleeping. I think I did pretty well last night. Was all snuggly in my bed with the tv off at 11pm. But I am struggling this morning. Plus things hurt - my head and hips. Don't ask, I don't know.

It use to take a few days for a big lack of sleep to catch up with my body.

I think I need something to eat. Then maybe a nap. I wonder how I can get away with that.

I'm glad to hear that your FIL is well enough to travel, especially to get out of this cold and crap. The warmth will probably help him too.

I think we all need to just take a vacation. That'll help with sleep, right?

That includes you too Ruby, you need to get away for a while. I don't know the exact situation, but if you can get out for a couple hours, it will do you a world of good. But I think I understand how you feel you might not be able to go.

I think the bank job will be a breeze once I know all the little nuances and variences about how things go. I understand the job and what the overall purpose is so that helps. I think it'll be fun.

I have to go back tonight and then monday, but have tuesdays and wednesdays off. the back to back days off mid-week will be good too. and weekends off too.

its snowing outside. sunbtch. I best get ready and then go wipe off the car. gonna take the slow way to work.

Sounds like the pt job is going to work out really well, jd. Woo, good to hear that your FIL can finally get out of there. I hope he gets to feeling well again. Ruby, you know my heart breaks for you. I agree with MZ, we could all use a vacation -- where are we on the bus?

When I win the lottery tomorrow, I'll buy a cruise ship (so we can pick up pip, ultimo and jules too) and we'll all have a real good time... Until then, BACK TO WORK EVERYONE!

Howdy.

The weather is going to be crappy today, but it started out beautiful.

The boy and I headed out for school and the East half of the sky was a beautiful brilliant orange. In just the few minutes it took us to get to school, the entire sky turned pink, then the East became bright yellow. Just a few minutes later, I got here to the office and the East was normal again and a rainbow was forming in the west. Usually don't see too many rainbows in January.

It was quite awesome.

Its always hard to get a good picture of a rainbow, but I tried:

I would like to see the sun for more than 20 or 30 minutes. I miss it.

It has been rather rainy, cloudy weather lately. The sun made a brief appearance yesterday morning before disappearing before mid morning. It was out for my ride in this morning. It is just cloudy now.

JD wasn't lying, the snow is flying.

Up to 8 inches they claim. It's supposed to be a 24 hour snowfall.

The only good thing is it appears to be fairly fluffy. That heavy, moist stuff will kill ya. Literally.

Carry on with your day, or take a nap. The choice is yours.

I feel for everybody suffering the cruddy weather. When I drove into work today it was 46* headed to a forecast high in the 60's. Tomorrow? 20's.

We're supposed to miss the big snowstorm, but the farther north in the state you go, the more snow we're supposed to get. I still hope to lock myself in the house this weekend.

Hi all. Nothing new to report, so I'll just comment instead.

Ruby, I'm sorry you're having problems again. I agree with everyone else...you need to get away for an hour or two with your girlfriends. Sometimes even that small of a break gives you enough time to soothe the emotions, calm the nerves, and forget the problems for just a little while.

JD, glad to hear the first night on the new job went smooth. Having a break mid-week should help when the "routine-ness" sets in.

Murse: No, it wasn't a double. It wasn't even a full arch, only about 1/3 of the arch was visible.

Today was report card day. The boy had all "proficient" and "advanced" marks. Yay! I know its "only" 2nd grade, but we'll take these little victories when they come.

Oh, and what a day. Beautiful sunrise in the East, a rainbow in the West, then snow for a couple hours. Its stopped now, but we've got a good white dusting again.

Um, now, can you explain what that means? Man, I wish they used ABCDF, I can understand that! Speaking of, why do they never use E?

Um they still use E here Mz. The elementary schools switched a long time ago to proficient, advanced, needs improvement, meets standards, etc. Back in the 80s there was a backlash about making young kids feel bad if they got a C or lower on their report cards, so to counteract that, they changed the way they do things. I never saw an ABCDEF on any of my girls' report cards or school papers until they hit junior high...middle school.

I don't remember the exact terms, but they have four reports:

Advanced
Proficient
Could use improvement
Your kid's an idiot and will never figure this out

Proficient means that they are doing everything asked of them in an acceptable manner.

Advanced means that they are above average or able to do more than the level of work they are at.

So far, he's only ever gotten one "could use improvement" and that was for not being able to tie his shoes by the end of kindergarten. With velcro straps, there was not much need for the whole rabbit around the tree thing.
