Help!

Okay, my company is having a big celebration and I need to do a Powerpoint prez with a Decade in Photos of the company. I need a song to play while the photo presentation is playing, any suggestion of upbeat, "here's to us" type song? Something like Green Day's Time of Your Life kind of thing. Lots of clients coming to this... I'm trying to avoid generic inspirational Disney-esque/Broadway-esque music. Bleech. Also, no heavy metal rock ballads, PLEASE!

When they did a Robin Yount retrospective here in Milwaukee at County Stadium they used Van Halens "Top Of The World" for the video, it was very inspirational, but probably a bit too loud for what you are looking for.

Come on Freeze-Framers!  What can we come up with?

I like the "Top of the World" suggestion, and here's a similar one.  When they did a tribute to Mario LeMieux in Pittsburgh when they thought he was retiring, they played "The Best" by Tina Turner.  Good song for something like that.

Of course, there is always the "We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions" song combo that might be good to use.

Or for a chuckle you could breifly sprinkle in a little "Who Let The Dogs Out!".

I just requested both the Van Halen song and the Tina Turner song Zim, so if you;re listening, and why wouldn;t you be , they'll hopefully be up soon.

As for the Greenday song, I'm not so sure about using that one.  That one too me sounds like they're celebrating something that is ending, like when they used it for the last episode of Seinfeld.  I assume your company is celebrating the future, as well as the past, at this party!

Heh heh... well.... I WOULD have been listening, and I HAD it on. However, being an East Coaster, I was at lunch walking. Go figure! I'll request them again later to hear them.

Well, since you said no Broadway-esque that blows away "Dat Gum Government" from Big River.  Although it would be good for a hoot.  For some reason, the theme from Chariots of Fire keeps coming to my head, but the for the life of me, I can't remember what that sounds like.  I like the Tina Turner "Simply the Best" suggestion.  I will keep thinking on this...my brain is a blank right now.

I am not going to be a lot of help, but I bet Jeremy would know the answers.    What was the number one song for the year for each of the years you are covering, perhaps playing a clip of the music of the year to correspond with the era of photo?

I Like the Van Halen Idea but I've always had good luck with Gloria Esteffan "Get on your feet" or Van-Halen-Hagar "That's what Dreams are Made of." In a couple presentations I did where vocals were not appropriate I've always found "new age jazz artists Jean-Luc Ponty and Shadowfax(older I know but hey this is an 80's station!") work great!!

Good luck
