OK, just one more:

Before becoming a sex symbol with his namesake hard rock band in the late 80's, this singer/bassist was a studio musican, singing backup vocals for artists like FIONA and Alice Cooper.

Hm, namesake hard rock band in the late 80's... The first person that comes to mind is Mark Slaughter, but I don't believe he plays bass, and we already have a station ID from him. And I think Slaughter was actually early 90's.

Hm, still thinking on this one...

It's not Jon Bon Jovi, is it? I'm thinking he was more mid 80's, and I don't know if he plays bass. But I could imagine him singing backup, he is a sex symbol, and the band is his name.

Nope - The 1st BJ album came out in 1984.  And he plays guitar, not bass.

Hm, I don't know much about Winger, I didn't get into them that much, so I don't know if they're late 80's or if he plays bass, but is it Kip Winger?
