Seriously? Who thinks a bank won't catch that error sooner or later? And you can't afford to do not do anything for $175k. You won't get far. Sometimes people are just, well you know.

I had something like that go against me a couple of years back. I wrote a check to pay on a credit card. I received a note from my bank saying that my check bounced and the check was covered by my overdraft. I did my research and immedately called the bank. I explained it to them and even told them to pull the check in question. The lady told me she would work on it. Now it sucked double because this happen while I was laid off. It was not like I really had that extra to pay. I couldn't figure out how the cc company didn't cathc the difference btween the posted batch and the deposit to the bank. I called the credit card company after it happened too. The bank didn't seem to do much about it. I called back a couple of weeks later and went through the whole thing, again. The person I talked to then said she didn't see any notes on my file about this or my original call. I eventually got it all straightened out, but I shouldn't have had to go through any of that.
