I know that beauty pageants are a something of a small joke however I was pleased to watch the show tonight as they all amazlingly well. However Just because I was bored and now I am watching the greatest of all Comedies Auntie Mame with the only one who could do it justice Rosalind Russell. I thought I would throw some tidbits about the Miss america pageant out there.

Oklahoma Leads the winners with a total of 7

California has 6

Ohio, Michigan,Illinois,and Pennsylvania all have had 5

Mississippi has had 4

Texas,New York,Minnisota,Alabama,Colorado,and Kansas all have had 3\

Washington DC,New Jersey,Tennesee,Arizona,Utah,South Carolina,Arkansas,Virginia,Hawaii and Florida have all had 2

Conneticut, Georgia,North Carolina,Wisconsion,Missouri,Kentucky, Oregon and now Indiana have each had 1

Indiana Has ended thier winningless streak and has won the 2009 Miss America Crown. ( only took them 81 years)

Only Ohio, Oklahoma,Pennsylvania,and Mississippi are the only states to have had back to back Miss Americas.


Mary Katherine Campbell is the only Miss America to win the title twice in 1922 and 1923

Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts,Montana, Delaware,Wyoming, West Virginia, Maryland,Washington, Idaho,N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Nebraska,Iowa, and New Mexico and Nevada Have Never had a Miss America.
