It's about two weeks until pitchers and catchers report to spring training. What do you think? Is there spring excitement in the air? Are you ready? Can you contain yourself? Or will is really sink in about a month from now when we can be listening to spring training games?

Fuzzy...now that The Super Bowl is done.......Baseball is in the air here.....interupted by The Budweiser Shootout at Daytona this Saturday and the fabulous season that my Orlando Magic are having!
I forgot about the Bud Shoot Out. Ah, nothing like the smell of burning rubber in the air.
Are you ready for a little baseball SG? I think the Phils and Mets will be at each other's throat again until the end of the season. I am just going to hope that the Braves are still rebuilding and will stay fara away. The poor Nationals try so hard but should still hang down the bottom. And I don't know about the Marlins. Hope fully they can fight it out withe the Braves for third place in the division.

I think that's a good assesment....Although recently the Marlins see to find a way to be in the thick of things for most of the season, usually with a bunch of "who are theys"
The Marlins can give the Phillies a fit sometimes. The Phils use to win quite a few games and then they went into a skid where they had a hard time winning any games from them. Indeed the Marlins always fight hard.
And I don't know where Manny will end up. I am not sure anyone wants to give him a long contract like he wants. If he stays in AL that is good. If no one wants him there, just keep him out of the NL East.

Nice try. But I think your top guy has spent a lot of money on pitching. I don't think you needed a slugger. I would worry about his attitude. And when he decides to get lazy.

I guess JR doesn't want to talk about spring or baseball yet. Although, maybe he thinks I am trying to lure him in with the thread title. I should have picked a better one.
Or maybe he is just a chicken and doesn't have anything positive to say about his team.

Sorry guys. I was gone all day but had the computer on. As a result it looked like I was lurking but I wasn't.
I'm SO pumped for baseball!
Prince Fielder surprised everyone and skipped arbitration and accepted a very reasonable two year deal.
I think we're going to be a very good club this year and I still have hope we'll sign one more pitcher. The market out there is brutal for these free agents. So late in the off-season and still a ton of big names out there looking for work.
This is the most excited I've been for baseball in a long time, and I'm ALWAYS excited for baseball!
I was hoping we'd trade Fielder for pitching and sign Adam Dunn for first base. Now that Fielder has an $18 million dollar contract he's probably staying put. Offensively we're pretty well set, although I'd like some more left handed hitters.
