I had a couple come in with a kid who was probably around 10 years old. The father saw someone come in who he works with and jokingly said in a whisper, "She's my friend."
The kid didn't hear the whole thing and thought he was talking about the Mom. The kid said, "Well, you'd have to be really good friends since you had me!"
Mom turned bright red, but Dad looked kind of proud.
It's a beautiful day here today; sunny, kind of windy, and 50 degrees!!! I picked up my new glasses this morning, got my car washed and waxed, went grocery shopping, dropped off my daughter's clarinet for repairs, bought myself a couple of new shirts and a pair of black jeans, and picked up some more charcoal and starter fluid so we can grill out today. Since I got my chores all done, I can relax the rest of the weekend.
I thought I was feeling a little better so I went with Mrs Web to the Alco store. Then we went to the Pamida store. Then we got lunch and came back home. I'm spent. I did pick up more Nyquil though.
Jim the snowman is dead. He's just a little pile of ice chunks now.
I didn't get near as much done on the yard as I'd hoped, but I did get some done. I got a late start because I had to go to Home Depot to pick up lawn bags, then decided I would knock out some grocery shopping while I'm at it. Took a trip over to Costco, paid the opressively expensive membership fee so that I could in turn use my refund check from last year to pick up a few things while I was there. Got back home with all that, put it away, then started on the yard. 2 1/2 hours and 5 yard bags later, my front yard is not near so offensive. It was nice being out in the fresh air... high was something like 73*. I'm really proud of me for getting out to enjoy it.
Unfortunately, the post yard work errands got me home a little too late to fire up the grill today, so I'm broiling a steak for dinner. That and some steamed veggies should be good.
Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40's so I might venture out to do some more on the yard. Not sure yet.
