Hi JR!!! Aw, ya missed me huh??? It's Monday so it's gonna be like a morgue.
What's new Penguin? Not much going on here. I just finished eating dinner; had a couple of Tombstone pizzas I put in the oven, and was reading threads while eating.
I didn't know Tombstone came from WI. I thought the only good thing you guys put out was cheese......I had my uncle bring me some smoked rope cheese a few years ago when he was there......yummy!!
Hey, I saw earlier this morning that one of your favorite maker of donuts might be out of business by the end of this year. Yahoo news had a list of some businesses that are in financial trouble and could go under, and Krispy Kreme was on the list! Better stock up on 'em while you can.
I know; I was surprised at some of the places they had on it. I should've bookmarked the page so I could copy and paste it here on the forum. They figure Chrysler is gonna be the auto maker to go under. There were a couple of clothing stores and chain restaurants on it too. A few companies are holdings of Apollo (which I've never heard of) and because Apollo has some huge debt payments coming due they'll have to close up some of their holdings.
I guess I'm kinda old fashioned when it comes to the radio broadcasts in my car. I can't justify paying to listen to radio stations when I'm really not in the car long enough to get my money's worth. Even if I had a long commute to work, I think I'd just pop a cd in the player. But I know there are a lot of people that like the choices Sirrius offers.
Mine came free for one year when I bought the car. I believe the subscription ends Friday. I am with you though, paying for it when I only spend two hours (minimum) a day in the car seems silly. Now, if I could take it from the car into work and into the house without buying anymore equipment, then it probably would be worth it. Honestly, I forget how to listen to free radio in the car.

Now that would be a great idea if they would make it "portable" so you could take it with you wherever you went without having to buy any other equipment.
Sorry, JD! I found some actual work to do, so I was actually working this afternoon. Probably will be for some of tomorrow too.
I pay for Sirius already. I don't drive a lot every day but on the days where I have to do a lot of driving (like to go see my kids) I sure do like it. The wuzband got me the receiver as a gift more or less because I hate listening to commercials on the radio, so I'm an habitual channel surfer. That made him crazy. He figured if I had pay radio, I would not channel surf so much. Now I just have more choices and a handy dandy remote control!

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
I have a friend who used to have a Miata with Siruis radio. (And he's deaf! But he has hearing aids, so he can hear most stuff.) He was part of a Miata club that would go on rallys and scavenger hunts and such.
He took me along to one rally (down to a winery too!), and on the way back turned the radio on and handed me the menu and asked what I wanted to listen to. As he handed me the paper, the wind caught it, and it flew out of the car and down the road.
After I stopped laughing, I told him I trusted his judgment.
