glad Thump was okay too.

I cried myself here. I feel like a truck hit me. I was up all night sweating and I have pain in every muscle and bone. My teeth and head hurt, but I have 12 appointments today and my f'in boss took a personal day off today. I am too pissed to even be here....

Mornin'

Tuesday, I had a secondary hard drive fail in one of my servers. I had the techs at the data center replace that. Now today, it looks like the new drive is failing already too so we'll get to do it all over again today. Grrr.

I sent in a new server that is arriving at the data center today. I'll get to spend the next couple days getting it all set up and ready for websites.

The weatherman is talkin' 4-6" of snow beginning later tonight and into tomorrow afternoon. We've been pretty lucky avoiding the big snows so far this winter, I can't complain too much. Maybe we'll get to make Jim the snowman v2.0.

I get to go back at work today after having to sit out yesterday. Lets see what kinda mess there is to clean up and what will be the causes for rushing all day.

I usually take a bunch of vitamins in the morning, but lately that has been upsetting my stomach, so I think I need to get into the routine of taking them to work and having them with my lunch.

Morning all. Mostly sunny, 55 degrees and very, very windy.

I had a 10am deadline for something, so I had to give it a review before I could comein and play. Finished it yesterday, let it sit over night. Made minor revisions and sent it on its way at 9:30.

Thanks for breakfast Thumper. It looks much better that the soda and Kitkat I had. I know so healthy, right?

Hi all.  I'm glad my work day is over!!  Last month an application for school of choice came across my desk that had to be declined.  The kid has been suspended from 4 different schools during the past 2 years, so I sent out the standard form letter telling the parents their application was denied due to the suspensions.  The rules clearly state a student cannot have any suspensions during the previous 2 years in order to be accepted under school of choice.  This morning the mom came in, asked for me, and proceeded to cuss & yell at me for 20 minutes before storming out.  Half an hour later she came back; still cussing and screaming because her son's application was denied and claiming it was denied because "he ain't a white boy" and called me a "racist b*tch."  When I turned my back to go and get my supervisor, the woman jumped over the counter, grabbed me by my hair, and proceeded to punch me!  I was stunned, and couldn't believe she did that!!! A co-worker called the police and I filed assault charges against her.  Anyway, I'm ok except for a couple of scrapes and bruises.  Never knew my job carried the risk of being physically attacked by an angry parent.  Oh, and her son....each of his suspensions was for fighting in school.  Guess the apple didn't fall very far from that tree. hmmno.gif

Glad you are okay Ghost. When the letter clearly defines the reasons the child is denied enrollment, how can she turn it into a race thing? I hope when they lock her up she realizes what kind of example she has been for her son. She probably got the same letter from two or three other schools (or will get them). Then she can see how stupid she was for acting that way. I know, it probably will never phase her.

Someone ranting and raving like that would worry me. I mean, I can deal with it and tell them how to deal with the appeal or whatever. But her coming back half an hour later? For all anyone knew, she could have been carrying some kind of weapon.

OMgoodness Sandy. That is horrible. I can understand the mother's frustration. But clearly she took it out on the wrong person in the worst way. Guess that explains the son's behavior though. Very sad!

Yeah, I tried to be as tactful as possible while she was ranting and raving, tried to explain there was nothing I could do about the application being declined, but apparently she thought these were my rules, not rules set by the school board.  As Fuzzy said, I bet the kid's been declined from other schools too, or will be. 

I wonder if this qualifies me to start wearing a superhero costume to work. laughing.gif

I've actually been working. smile.gif For some reason, today has been insanely busy. All week long nobody has really been bothering me for anything then today EVERYBODY wanted something. My computer moves a little slower when I'm logged into the work network from home, so it makes it more cumbersome to post on the forum.
