All I can say is I am honoring him through my work, God that is. I feel blessed to have a job and this is going to be one of my busiest days ever. I am very sick and weak...but will persevere.
Good luck Ruby! As soon as you can, go home and rest.
I've got a busy day ahead of me, with meetings at IU this afternoon. But, one of those meetings is with the Kelley School of Business Alumni office. (The Kelley School is big, both in size and reputation.)
Yeh! Finally Friday! Work is so slow it makes the week drag... The SHE BOSS told us yesterday that THE MAN cut her hours until we pick up and THE MAN JR's wife will domino in April, so he cut her hours too. So far, the receptionist and I are in the safe zone.
Last night's funny: We had Chinese take out for supper. When it came down to the fortune cookies, we each took turns reading our fortunes out loud. Everytime someone would finish, Isaac would say, "in bed". At first we didn't catch on... until Jacob's -- You will bring sunshine into someone's life. (in bed).
Isaac: "Maranda says we're supposed to say that..."
Ruby, hope you are able to rest this weekend!

You should fear anything that can bleed for seven days without dying... (as told to Mr. DS on 3-12-10)
I took a vacation day today and then of course couldn't sleep in. I stayed up too late and my brain I think is just wired. Hubby left me a message that one of the apt buildings caught fire last night and he had a hard time getting out to go to work. Yikes!
Think I'm gonna play with a picture program today. Have to make a phone call later about tax/money crud that my husband appointed to me since I was home.
Later we are going to the movies to see Friday The 13th!
Happy Friday all!

We have 6" of snow on the ground and its still snowing heavily. All the area schools are closed.
Mrs Web is home sick today. When she gets it from me it always seems to lag about a week behind me.
Our phone/DSL went out yesterday afternoon. I'm not sure if I can expect phone repair to come out in this snow or not. I haven't seen anyone around yet.
I've got a server acting up and I really can't do much because I can't trust my cell phone connection enough to run any operations that take any time to run. If I lose connection in the process of doing something, it could make things even worse. If I really have to, I can take the 4wd to the office and hopefully get online from there, but I'll wait a little longer to see if the phone co gets us back on line here.
Meh... finally here at the office. Nothing going on. As usual. It's Friday so not much is going to go on either. Pambo is in the office this morning too. Man is she cranky!

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
Progress . . . the phone is back. The tech just called and said that yesterday he was working in a box down the street from us and he must have knocked our connection loose.
Scratch one problem off the list.
My cell phone runs about 130k or about three times dialup speed. Dialup must be miserable for those that are suck with it. Everything is so bandwidth intensive now. It must be terrible trying to do much more than basic email over dialup.
I woke up this morning and found out that one of my domain names was expired. I swear they never sent me any emails about it. Luckily they let me renew with no penalty. Sometimes if one expires it goes into a special pool where you have to pay hundreds to get it back, but King Register must have a grace period
Looking the seven day outlook is almost creep right now! The forecase calls for a high of 35 EVERY DAY for six days, with lows ranging between 21 - 24 during that same period. Very livable temp for February, but crazy consistent for ANY time of the year.
A song I heard reminded me of an ex-boyfriend. On a whim, I decided to Google him. He really doesn't have much of a web presence, but I did find the notice in the paper where he go married a year and a half ago. I'm so happy for him!
So then I got curious about his wife and looked her up. She has a Facebook profile. She's pretty. I thought about sending a friend request, just to find out more about her, but decided that would be weird.
Unfortunately, he's not on Facebook. Darn. He has artwork up on an artist community website, but he hasn't been on there in years. Which is too bad, I'd love to see some of his more recent work.
Our relationship ended amicably, but I don't know if he would want to talk to me now. I was young, and I took advantage of his hospitality. We were friends that ended up dating, and when the relationship was over, the friendship fizzled out too.

Yes, it does suck to have dial-up. You click on a page, then play freecell for a couple minutes while it loads, depending on the site.... Got Juno at $9.95 a month though, and can't get any of those big company deals in my nieghborhood, so the cost of broadband is a lot more than 9.95 for me, and too much for my tight budget.... Maybe when the kids get into grade school....
Biggest problem is that I can;t listen to FFR at home....
Dial-up users unite! Come out from the dark shadows and let yourselves be heard! There is no shame in dial-up, just boredom!
I had a cable modem for a year when I worked from home for an internet start-up company that operated using a virtual office. It was very nice. That was when I had my first go-round with FFR. Then I got laid off, and with it went my cable modem, and with that went FFR....

The crank has passed.
Thank you, Mema for the INXS & Boom-Shack-A-Lack. Made things better.
I am no longer in the office. I'm back at home & groovin' thank you very much!
Yeah. That musta been it. Plus the whole reason that I had to go in was because I got notified of a bunch of work I had to to ASAP...that I couldn't do from home. That put a knot in the proverbial underoos.
Lunch with my Mema helped. And apparently I won some kind of monetary award that I don't know about. New found money always helps.
