Guys will be guys.

Most will still be guys when the girls are around.

And the rest will not act like guys when the girls are around.

M - no matter which approach we took, I don't think we would be safe. Everyone's mind just ends up in the gutter. Move yours over so mine can float by will ya?

The local news just did a story on this.  They actually showed the exact same notice I got in the mail.

Some people are being jacked up to 29.99%

They talked to an "expert" who said you should call Crapital One and ask if you could be moved to a different card with a better rate, but the anchor tried calling on her own Crapital One card and was told no.  Accept the terms or close the account.

And do you know what Crapital Ones explanation was?

Too many people are defaulting on their credit cards and they need to make up that lost income.

So again, the company that received a 5.1 BILLION dollar bailout payment is concerned about their BAD customers and deciding to recoup the lost money from all the customers that have accounts in good standing.

So they are going to make bad customers of good customers who can't afford to pay 30% and call that good business? Makes sense to me... NOT!!

I'm just astonished at how they're dumping this on EVERYONE. IF you had a great rate of 5.9 you're going up to 13.9, if you had an average rate of 13.9 you're going up to 22.9. God help you if your rate was already at 22.9 because you're going to 29.99.

All of this legal because of the CRAPPY changes congress made three or four years ago. no.gif

I really think that's so Midwest. We're whores. Dutch, German, Irish etc work to the extreme and don't think that's the MAX.
Everyone moves to CA so they can get the ethnic thing out of the way.disbelief

I was employed at age 11. first job, I worked at a hair salon on 47th and Center St. For $1 per week, I picked up all the garbage on Friday afternoon.

Later, my stepdad started a company. It was 1974. My whole family (7 children) worked on weekends unfolding drawings to be microfilmed. We were paid 1.00 per hour. Paid at the end of the first year during a Christmas party. I worked 129 hours. I worked for my stepdad for twenty years. Every day, I work every second I was there. Sometimes, I felt guilty for taking a break. So, I clock out and work off the clock. Stepdad is Polish. I'm German/Irish. The work ethic of the "imports" is getting lost. Is that over your head? Jer, if you're WestAllica, you must have the same drive.

Yeah, I kinda followed you on the work ethic part. You lost me on the move to CA part.

You know, I'll be honest. I had intense drive my first 20 years in the work force. I worked 60 hour weeks at my job and still would get a part time job to do another 10 - 20 hours a week.

I started my own business and probably worked 120 hours a week at that for nearly a decade.

But lately, I'm so f**&in sick of the way it all works that I barely give a crap anymore. I just want to make enough money to be able to have the basic necessities and a few nice things. Don't need a new car, don't need a big house.

At this point family and happiness are more important than breaking my back so I can pay for a welfare mama to stay home and pump out babies or so companies like Crapital One can bitch slap me around for being responsible with my credit.

It just doesn't get you anywhere to bust your ass anymore.

10-4
I really don't make too much per hour for my skill level but, if I can be happy at home, with my wife & son, peeps like JD etc. that's going to give me wealth that money will NEVER  give me.

Most definately.

I find I'm usually happier now that I'm not worried about having the newest and the coolest of everything and just enjoy spending my time with family and friends.

Told ya. Time to dump all the credit cards. I can get one through my credit union at 9.99%. That may be the only one I get and use.
