It's supposed to get close to 70 here today. It might rain later, but right now it's sunny with a few clouds: perfect. I'm even wearing my jellies! It's put me in a good mood.

Morning all. I'm glad this week is just about over. It's supposed to be nice here today, partly cloudy with a high of 69*. I'll take that for early March.

Slept with the window open last night.  The Bartlett Pear trees are comming along...  Probably by Sunday or Monday they will be in full bloom.  Yay!

My wife and I have this thing were we ask each other "How's your natives?"

She called me this morning and her natives are restless.

One of the gals came to work today with no makeup on. Their (female) boss sent this gal an email saying how she should clock out, and go get her makeup put on. This is the same boss that a while ago said that it was good to wear a blazer jacket because they "hide things".

This gal is really mad. She has sensitive skin to begin with and she used something on her face a couple days ago that cause her to rash out. Her face was burning and hurting so she decided to give it a break today and not use any makeup today. She replied to the boss and BCC'd my wife and made it very clear that she was upset and explained why she was not wearing makeup today. She mentioned discrimination, and said that if her not having makeup on today was a problem, she would be happy to go back home.

I tried to give the boss the benefit of the doubt and thought that the issue was probably that she thought this gal was just running behind today and would be using work time to finish getting ready this morning. I thought it could just be the "doing personal stuff on work time" thing. My wife doesn't think so. She thinks its just the fact that this gal didn't wear makeup today and doesn't look her best.

The natives are restless. My wife said "I think I'll just keep my head down today".

This she boss is VERY shallow. It drives my wife crazy. Its like it doesn't matter if we make mistakes as long as we give a good impression and look good while we make them.

Oh man, that's just rude.  And it is discrimatory.  And if wearing makeup isn't in the employee manual, then she has every reason to complain.  I'd be going to the HR department about it.

I used to work for a spa where wearing makeup was required, but we sold makeup and offered makeup lessons, so that was understandable.  But at that same spa, the guy that was "helping the owner out" (the same guy who had some sort of skin condition on his arms yet always wore short sleeved shirts) told me I should get a different haircut.  And that was when I had just gotten my hair cut short and didn't like it and was very self conscious about it.  When the owner decided to make him my manager, I quit.
