Pop superstar PRINCE is set to perform from his Los Angeles mansion for fans at home - via a new Internet subscription service.
Supporters who hand over an annual fee of $77 (£54) will have access to music, lyrics, artwork and photos on a new website.
Fans can even make song requests - and watch as the icon rocks out their picks live from his own home, according to reports.
The website is scheduled to go live on 24 March (09) - days before the 29 March (09) release of his two new albums, LOtUSFLOW3R and MPLSoUND.
In September 2007, Prince announced he intended to sue various websites, including YouTube and eBay, for hosting his music and film content online without his authorisation.

That sucks that he's going to sue YouTube. I thought that he was cooler than that.

I like Neil Gaiman's stance on stuff like that. Granted, he's an author, not a pop artist, but the concept is still there. He loves libraries, doesn't mind used book stores (apparently some authors hate used book stores because they don't get any extra money from the additional sale), and even gives out free ebooks sometimes. One, he just loves writing and isn't all too concerned about the money. But also, he thinks that stuff like that sells more of his books on the whole.

It does suck that Prince is going to sue, but I really like what he's doing with the internet subscription. That's very innovative.
