These last two days of driving with rain to and from work has me wondering about other drivers. People were driving without their headlights on. In this state, if you have your wipers on, your headlights are also supposed to be on. So that lead me to the question of the day.

I know that many newer cars have daytime running lamps. I always thought that was a good thing. Some newer cars do not have that, and many older cars do not have it either. But I can't understand why people can't take three seconds to put their headlights on in questionable weather or lighting.

I'm not sure about the headlights with the wipers in Oklahoma. I don't have daytime running lamps, but I drive with my lights on anyhow. I read or heard somewhere that you're 35% less likely to have an accident if you have your headlights on...

So, there's this girl and a boy. They're in the bathtub together... naked, he says "what are those?" She says, "those are my headlights" He says, "what's that?" She says, "that's my tunnel" He says, "Quick, turn the lights on, I'm going into the tunnel" Yuck! Sorry.

Yeah it's a law in Michigan, but there are always people that ignore it. I have daytime running lights, and like Mz's car, the headlights and side marker lights come on automatically when it gets dark out; they also turn off when I turn the ignition off. Nice feature....never have to worry about accidentally leaving the headlights on and having a dead battery.
